This past Monday, Marvel Studios held the global press conference for Moon Knight. ComicBookMovie.com was on hand to cover the event (we were even fortunate enough to ask a question), and there were plenty of exciting new reveals about the Disney+ series to be found.
Moderator Devan Coggan asked about the scenes where Oscar Isaac had to converse with himself as Steven Grant and Marc Spector, and the actor explained how approaching those moments was made easier by having his real-life brother on set to perform against as Steven or Marc!
"Well, the first step was to hire my brother, Michael Hernandez, to come in and be the other me," Isaac explained. "That's the closest thing to me there is on Earth. So, he came in and he would play either Steven or Marc, even do the accent and everything, both accents. It was really helpful to have someone that's not only a great actor but also shares my DNA to play off of."
"But that was something that I didn't anticipate was how technically demanding that was going to be of having to show up and decide which character I was going to play first," he continued, elaborating on some of the biggest challenges presented by this role. "And then try to block that out, give my brother notes, and then do the scene, and then switch characters, and then figure it out."
It's fascinating to hear from Isaac about the complications and complexities that surrounded his dual roles in Moon Knight, and should Jake Lockley eventually be thrown into the mix, well, that'll be another character for the Star Wars alum to take on. We're confident he won't struggle with that, anyway, especially based on those recent social media reactions (our review drops on Monday).
Moon Knight premieres on Disney+ on March 30.
