MOON KNIGHT's Rotten Tomatoes Score Has Been Revealed

The embargo for Marvel's latest Disney+ series, Moon Knight, lifted earlier today, and with the first wave of review counted, Rotten Tomatoes has unveiled the show's initial rating. Is it Fresh or Rotten?

The review embargo for Marvel's latest Disney+ outing, Moon Knight, lifted earlier today (you can check out my verdict over at FearHQ, and Josh's here), and Rotten Tomatoes has now unveiled the show's initial score.

Moon Knight is currently "Fresh" at 77% with 31 reviews counted, but more are being added as we write this, and that score is certain to fluctuate (it's now dipped to 73%).

Marc Spector's live-action debut appears to have gone over pretty well with the majority of critics (some are even hailing it as the best Disney+ MCU show yet), but it certainly didn't work for everyone. Most agree that Oscar Isaac does a terrific job with his dual role, however, and despite a few missteps, this limited series seems to be considered a successful entry point to the supernatural side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It's also worth noting that critics were only given access to the first four episodes, and not the full season. Without giving too much away, the fourth instalment ends on a bonkers note that sets-up a (potentially) game-changing conclusion.

What do you guys make of the reviews so far? Were they as positive as you'd hoped/expected? Drop us a comment down below.

Moon Knight hits Disney+ tomorrow.

Very rarely does marvel misstep in terms of TV and movies. Im sure its gonna be good. Maybe its just too wierd for some critics to get into

Respectable. Might check out a few reviews to see what drawbacks the negatives came away with. Hopefully it just comes down to their taste in shows.

Not a very promising start...

I like all the MCU series but Loki is the best. I feel Kevin Feige should hire a tv producer to run the series to bring out the best quality.

@TheSuperMex - he needs to be hands off and empower creators with passion and vision for whichever character they are adapting. Loki was really good I agree. Waldron is my guy

@TheSuperMex -
But Loki also was a little bit disjointed until the last two episodes. Episode 4 ended with the batshit crazy thing where both the Timekeepers and Loki bought it. The last two episodes were by far the best and tied the whole thing together like Lebowski's Rug.

@TheSuperMex - All the D+ Marvel shows have started well but fail to stick the landing.

I’m just gonna say it: the MCU’s best days are behind us. Will I tune in? Sure. It’s what I do. Will marvel deliver? Of course. But not as consistently as before. I can’t wait for strange. I got excited for moon Knight, not as excited now. Still more excited for it than for MorBS but I DigrSS

@Thing94 - That aspect hasn’t been the overwhelming thing it’s made out to be. Black widow replaced by a girl, no problem. Shang chi’s a dude. Eternals is mixed. Spider-Man is the same. Wanda been here for ages now. Falcon got promoted, otherwise the same. Loki got in touch with his feminine side but he ain’t goin nowhere.

Girl Hawkeye.

I’m aware there will be more of that in future. But it’s nbd right now

There was a comment from a reviewer that states Moon Knight barely factors into his own story. I hope that’s not the case. I know Marvel wants to do things differently and experiment, but I really do hope we get Moon Knight in all his glory in this one.

Super Hyped for this show

But just the fact that Marvel is going to release an average of 8 Movies + Shows a year shows that it will no longer have 80+% averages on their product

There will be some that will not be that good

Don’t all the doom and gloom, 73%’s pretty solid for something like this lol. As long as the writing’s not embarrassingly bad like FATWS then it should be pretty fun, turn your brain off entertainment

@tmp3

The MetaCritic score is pretty good. Usually with a 70% on RT that would indicate like a 50+ score on MC but the people who like Moon Knight love it and those who don’t think it’s pretty mid. And more people are loving it right now.

F&TWS is bottom tier MCU for me.

@regularmovieguy - I think the issue is people were expecting this to be some masterpiece when the bulk of the D+ shows have never gone beyond “disposable fun”
I’m mostly in for Isaac/Hawke tho ngl 🙈

“ I’m mostly in for Isaac/Hawke tho ngl 🙈”

I think we can safely say Isaac is going to crush MK. The reviews are loving his performance. Haven’t read much about Ethan Hawke and I don’t want to, but I hope he’s great too.

@regularmovieguy - Isaac's quickly becoming one of my favorites working rn, saw Scenes from a Marriage on the plane and while I'm mixed on the show, him and Chastain were fantastic. And he crushed it in Card Counter too.
Really hope Coppola's Megalopolis ends up happening, because I think that's a director/actor pairing that would work wonders

@tmp3

The Card Counter was something. I really liked Oscar’s performance in the movie but i wanted to like the movie more than I did.

I still haven’t watched Scenes from a Marriage yet…not sure I’d handle that well.

I’d love to see FFC make something worthwhile but it’s been so damn long. Idk, man. Haha that movie makes me nervous.

@tmp3 - I was just talking about Card Counter with a friend Sunday. I really liked it but he called it one of the “worst edited movies he’s ever seen” lol.

He said he needed to a rewatch but he found it too dour and droning. Said it went nowhere. I thought it was a great allegorical character study.

Just glad I can see Issac and Hawke act opposite each other. Two great additions to the MCU.
