Right in the middle of the seventh-inning stretch, Marvel Studios debuted the official trailer for their eagerly-awaited Disney+ series Secret Invasion, which brings Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) back to Earth and throws him right into the first, where he learns of a global conspiracy that could threaten the future of humanity at large.
We've also received the official synopsis, which reads, "Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity."
The cast features Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn (Talos), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Martin Freeman (Everett Ross), Kingsley Ben-Adir (Gravik), Charlayne Woodard (Priscilla Fury), Killian Scott (Fiz), Samuel Adewunmi (TBD), Dermot Mulroney (President Ritson), Christopher McDonald (TBD), Katie Finneran (TBD), with Emilia Clarke (G'iah) and Olivia Colman (Sonya Falsworth), and Don Cheadle (James Rhodes/War Machine).
Ali Selim (Sweet Land; The Looming Tower) helmed all six installments, with Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot; Copper) serving as the head writer.
