SECRET INVASION: Possible Details On Emilia Clarke's Actual Role Revealed - SPOILERS

There have been conflicting reports about the role Game of Thrones alum Emilia Clarke will play in the upcoming Secret Invasion series, and we may now know why that is! Possible spoilers ahead...

Aside from the basic premise, Secret Invasion plot details have been mostly kept under wraps, but thanks to some revealing set photos and the release of the first teaser trailer, we've been able to piece together a few things about the show and its main characters.

When it comes to Emilia Clarke's role, however, there have been a few conflicting reports.

Is she playing an undercover Skrull agent, or S.W.O.R.D. director Abigail Brand? The twisty nature of the series means it could be neither - or both - but this latest report claims to shed some light on how her mysterious character will factor into the story.

According to Daniel Richtman (via Patreon), Clarke is playing a Skrull named G’iah (as previously rumored), who is actually an older take on Talos' (Ben Mendelsohn) daughter we first met in Captain Marvel. Apparently, her human name is "Nell."

This doesn't necessarily debunk the possibility that she's playing Brand (or at least, a Brand imposter), but if accurate, it certainly gives us a little more to think about. In set photos, Clarke's character was primarily seen interacting with Kingsley Ben-Adir's villain (believed to be rebel Skrull leader Gravik) and Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill, so we'll just have to wait and see whose side she's really on.

Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will reprise their roles as Nick Fury and Talos, respectively, and they'll be joined by Olivia Colman, who is rumored to be playing an incarnation of Union Jack.

Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go) and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) directed the miniseries, which was written by Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot).

No official premiere date has been set, but Secret Invasion is reportedly scheduled to premiere early next year.

I anxiously await her MCU arrival!

I was really expecting her to play Lyja (being Talos' daughter) or Veranke and Abigail Brand. Could still happen though, since I don't trust DanielRPK to be honest

This show looks awesome. The trailer really blew me away and was not what I was expecting. Felt very much like Cap2:TWS in tone.

This is probably my most anticipated upcoming project in the near future.

So is everyone in agreement, that any Abigail Brand adaptation, has to have green hair?🤣

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - Yep. She needs to be part alien (not skrull) and she needs to have a weird relationship with Beast when X-Men come out.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - oh yeah, definitely. Normally I don't care for physical appearances of adapting comic book characters, but I'm making an exception now

Not enough strong female types in Marvel and Star Wars

@Matchesz - Imagine waking up every day and being mad that woman in exist in film projects. Just wild.

@SATW42 - if they took women characters and started making them men i’d be pretty upset at that too. Imagine waking up being mad at peoples opinions

@Matchesz - So, to be clear, is your wish for there to be more male characters than female? Right now I would think there are still more men in these, but are you saying it’s too close to being an equal number? And I know you said the thing about being mad if they made female characters into men, so are you saying you’d rather they just make more original female characters?
SATW42
SATW42 - 11/28/2022, 12:03 PM
@Matchesz - How is that relevant to this story?
SATW42
SATW42 - 11/28/2022, 12:31 PM
@OmegaBlack13 - if you actually look at a list of main / supporting characters in the MCU, the male to female ratio is actually astoundingly favored towards men, but because phase 4 had Black Widow (and Eternals depending on how you view it) and tv focused mainly on female characters, people here have lost their minds.

Like, Thor, 3 spidermen in one movie, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Moon Knight, Werewolf by night and Shang-Chi weren't enough

@CorndogBurglar - Enlighten me on what original comment I responded to meant than. This isn't a case of the character from the comics being gender swapped like they said, so what's the point of the comment?
Matchesz
Matchesz - 11/28/2022, 1:13 PM
@OmegaBlack13 - to be clear here are a list of strong classic women comic characters who have not been introduced that I would love to see on screen; psylocke, rogue, storm, invisible girl, mary jane, gwen stacy, emma frost, jean grey, black cat, betty ross, kitty pryde

But when they make every side female character more OP than the lead hero you take away from the other superpowered women because the way the MCU is today sharon carter could take Dr Doom out with a flying kick. I can believe steve rogers beats robots because he is a super soldier, but then they’ll have black widow doing the same thing right next to him without getting a scratch

@Matchesz - they’ll never show a woman die or become injured/beaten in any these through any fault of their own, they all have plot armor and it takes me out. It has to be a big bad overpowered man that throws them over a cliff or self sacrifice. The MCU is run by feminists
Matchesz
Matchesz - 11/28/2022, 1:22 PM
@SATW42 - Every movie/show you listed has a female side character who is more OP than the male without any prior training or experience, they’re just automatically invincible, even little Karli, a teenage girl who took super serum one day was already was beating Winter Soldiers ass, a WW2 veteran/hydra assassin. Seriously if people want to defend them thats fine, but i’m all too aware of woke culture to not see this stuff
SATW42
SATW42 - 11/28/2022, 2:09 PM
@Matchesz - just because you said every, whose the OP female side character in No Way Home?
Matchesz
Matchesz - 11/28/2022, 2:16 PM
@SATW42 - NWH I would say is the only exception but if you’re forcing me i’ll say MJ’s memory at the end.
SATW42
SATW42 - 11/28/2022, 2:48 PM
@Matchesz - I'm confused by this thought process. For simplicity sake, let's stay with the MCU.

Aunt May, Yon-Rogg killing Wendy Lawson doesn't count? Proxima Midnight? Captain Carter and Captain Marvel in MoM, Ajak, Carina dying when she selfishly grabbed the power stone? Or Rambeau killing Minn-Erva? Queen Frigga being stabbed? Major Kathleen Sparr being killed by Blonsky? Maria Stark? Oksana, Ingrid in Black Widow, The curator woman in Black Panther, Topaz, Hela...

Plus, I'm not sure of the goalpost moving. They'll never show a woman die, unless they are killed by an OP male, but you original argument was every male character has an OP female soooooo
SATW42
SATW42 - 11/28/2022, 2:50 PM
@SATW42 - sorry, this is in response to this

"they’ll never show a woman die or become injured/beaten in any these through any fault of their own, they all have plot armor and it takes me out. It has to be a big bad overpowered man that throws them over a cliff or self sacrifice. The MCU is run by feminists"

So you're fine with hawkeye taking on aliens, robots, and thanos army without injury too then right?
Vigor
Vigor - 11/28/2022, 2:58 PM
@Matchesz - "but i’m all too aware of woke culture to not see this stuff"

Aware isn't the word. You're more ... hyper sensitive to anything involving diversity. And see it through some negative lense.
I can't change your thinking on the comments section of a comic book movie website. But I find it fascinating studying people who think like you. Because YOU have always existed. Since man began hunting and gathering, and on through to the future. No matter how woke our culture becomes there seems there will always be our ills to keep us from greatness

OmegaBlack13
OmegaBlack13 - 11/30/2022, 3:47 AM
@Matchesz - So five X-Men that we will almost assuredly be getting anyway because of fairly recent developments, a member of the F4 who is basically the same deal, and 4 love interests for Spider-Man, only one of whom is a superhero character.

I mean yeah I guess Sharon Carter shouldn’t be able to take out a sorcerer in armor. And yeah Black Widow taking on the threats Avengers do is sometimes silly, but Hawkeye and Falcon do the exact same thing no?

She can be playing both a Skrull and Brand. This better not be another Mephisto situation where the rumor mill is more exciting than the end product.

The trailer gave off a very Winter Soldier-esque espionage vibe. Hopefully the show delivers on that. Also, hopefully the skrull invasion is not resolved in this show.
