Following an IMDB update from last night which claimed Jermaine Rivers had been added to the cast of The Gifted, the actor himself has confirmed via Twitter that he will play Shatter on the X-Men spinoff show.

Shatter debuted in Geoff Johns and Shawn Martinbrough's 2002 miniseries The Morlocks, and was introduced as a teenager who attempted to commit suicide upon discovering that he was a mutant. Because his crystal skin makes him almost invulnerable, the bullet proved to be non-fatal and left him with a massive, cracked depression on the side of his head.

We're not sure how Shatter will be depicted on the small screen, however.

The Gifted is scheduled to debut October 2 on FOX.

It was reported at the end of July by x-menfilms.com that they casted Shatter and Postman. The Comic Con trailer provides a brief glimpse at these mutants. X-Menfilms.com posted screencaps of these characters:

Good catch. I remember the set video featuring these tanker truck things a few weeks back. Set descriptions said that DP and Domino were in an action sequence that ended under a bridge where they break some mutants out of the tanker trucks.

however, the arm bands on the military guys in the photo say 'DMC' and not 'MRD'. So my guess is that it's a spin on the MRD and DMC is Department of Mutant... Collections?

most critics, if not all, have praised this show. And early screenings too. So thats a pretty solid sign it will be great.
