An extended trailer for FOX and Marvel TV's upcoming X-Men spinoff, The Gifted, has just been released online, and it gives us a much better idea of what to expect from the show.

The new footage sees the Strucker family, Reed (Stephen Moyer), Caitlin (Amy Acker), Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White); joining forces with another clan of mutants including Blink (Jamie Chung), Polaris (Emma Dumont) and Thunderbird (Blair Redford), to escape a shadowy government organization.

Oh, and we finally get that X-Men name-drop - although reports from the panel indicate the series actually exists in its own separate universe. Go figure.

Check it out below and let us know what you think.

THE GIFTED, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

The Gifted premieres this fall.

I'll be there on October 2. I like the interactions between the mutants like at the end.

I'm not a fan of all these hero TV shows, it's just going to make the general audience tire of CBMs a lot faster. They are over saturating the market at this point.

“One of the things that come out in the show is, the X-Men are gone. Why are the X-Men gone? That will come out in the show. It’s not just that they’re too expensive for television, though that may be related. There’s a unity of business and creativity that comes together, and you go, ‘The X-Men are gone! Where did they go?’ ‘They went to the other movies!’”
