Polaris (Emma Dumont) definitely made her father proud tonight when she took a play from his playbook and used a screw in Reed's (Stephen Moyer) leg to incapacitate Sentinel Services, so the both of them could escape captivity and reunite with their loved ones. We also were introduced so a mutant named Pulse (Zach Roerig), who was somehow being mind-controlled by Sentinel Services and being used against his friends, very similar to what happened to Morph in the '90s classic X-Men: The Animated Series.

Next week, the Mutant Underground doesn't have much time to celebrate their latest victory as Jace throws all the might of Sentinel Services into finding their headquarters. Meanwhile, Blink (Jamie Chung) will finally confront Dreamer (Elena Satine) about her recurring dreams.

Watch the promo for episode five, titled "boXed in," below:

From the way things looked in the footage they showed following the premiere (the "this season on "the Gifted"... stuff), I honestly didn't think they were going to be successful in busting out Polaris and Strucker. Nice to be surprised, and good to see that they aren't drawing out plotlines to far before making big changes.

Was all good until the point where Polaris could not access a whole metal bus because there was a bit of Plexiglas between it and her-- oh but luckily Strucker just so happened to have metal pins in his knee *eye-roll*

I haven't checked this show out, wasn't planning to because the trailers had that cheap and half assed syfy vibe that shows like agents of shield, gotham, flash, supergirl, arrow etc have. When things like Legion and Westworld being released so often I just can't handle that crap anymore, for example Supernatural turned into that same crap about 6 seasons ago, and I can barely get through it anymore. But people seem to be enjoying this, and I love Amy Acker... should I check it out? Or is it just cheesy filler?

@connorblaze - check it out. A lot of people thought the very exact same thing you said about this show before watching it, and now they're eating their words. The show is very entertaining, I'd say its the one of the best tv comic book shows.

I'm lovin it, they have a good pacing and i think the short amount of episodes really helped a lot, no filler therefore the show is actually moving forward with each episodes!

I love this show. Warpath and Polaris are taken straight from the comics. And unlike all the other comic shows, the love stories here are convincing.
