Deborah Ann Woll Officially Added To THE PUNISHER Cast; New Report Says Show Won't Debut Until 2018

She was spotted on set, but Marvel has now announced that Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page is coming to The Punisher. Unfortunately, we have a less promising update on the show's premiere date.

We still don't know whether it will be a cameo appearance or full on supporting role, but after she was spotted in set photos earlier this week, Marvel has confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll has been added to the cast of The Punisher. Given the relationship Karen Page developed with Frank Castle during Daredevil season two, this makes sense, and it will be interesting to see how she factors into the series.

So, that's good news, but what follows isn't. During The Punisher's portion of Marvel and Netflix's New York Comic-Con panel yesterday, it was revealed that shooting started last Monday, but nothing beyond that was revealed. TV Line however states that, "The Punisher isn’t expected to debut until 2018." Is that inside information or just a wild guess? It's hard to say, but they're a reliable source of information, and as much as this sucks, it also makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Iron Fist is set to be released in March, while The Defenders will likely follow that in September or October. Getting The Punisher ready for the summer might be a rush, and Netflix bosses have previously said they're happy with just two Marvel shows a year. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine them sitting on a completed series up to a year! Time will tell, but Marvel themselves have said it will hit Netflix in 2017, so unless something has changed there, don't worry too much just yet.

Whaaaaaaaaaa-? Okay, yeah, I guess we kinda got too excited when we thought it'd debut in 2017, some of us even going so far as to say it could be before the Defenders.

@GreekCreekGeek - It's debuting in 2017, Marvel's Site says that. The Netflix shows have a 10-11 month turn around. Defenders might be airing first though since it's only 8 episodes.

Marvel's press release when they added the three a couple days ago confirmed a 2017 streaming. As far as i know there isn't a press release that confirmed a 2018 date. Makes no sense especially if defenders which is filming after to be released 6 months ahead of a show already further along in production. Im skeptical of a 2018 date until Loeb or Marvel confirms it.
