WHAT IF...? Introduces An Awesome, Powerful New Superhero In "What If...Kahhori Reshaped The World?"

Marvel Studios is believed to have delayed What If...? at least a couple of times, hence why merchandise for the series started finding its way into stores several months ago. It was actually that which prompted the studio to officially unveil Kahhori, a newly created superhero for the MCU, long before her episode premiered.

Well, in today's instalment - titled "What If... Kahhori Reshaped The World?" - we finally get to meet her and, boy, it sure was worth the wait!

The story begins by revealing that, in this reality, Ragnarok came early. Odin never gets the chance to take the Tesseract to Earth and it's the only thing that survives Surtur's attack on Asgard, later falling to the planet on its own accord.

It's then we pick up with Kahhori, a young Mohawk woman who stumbles across a glowing lake after being chased down by conquistadors. She falls in after being shot and wakes up in Sky World, another realm that's inhabited by many of her ancestors. They too crossed between worlds and, in doing so, have been powered by Space Stone energy.

As for those conquistadors, they believe the lake is the Fountain of Youth but soon discover it's not quite what they expected when many of the soldiers are also pulled through that portal.

Back in Sky World and, despite initially attempting to return home, Kahhori soon settles in and gets to grip with her newfound powers and immortality. She's incredibly powerful and appears happy; however, it's then those conquistadors appear and, after overpowering them and stopping their bullets, she asks Sky World's people to help her. They don't want war as they've lived in peace for as long as they can remember, prompting her to pull the portal down to the land and return herself.

As the conquistadors round up her people, Kahhori returns and makes short work of them until she's overpowered by cannon fire. It's then her new friends appear to help turn the tide, destroying the Spanish ships and freeing the rest of the tribe.

Kahhori does indeed reshape the world, confronting the Spanish Queen, destroying her throne, and demanding peace. However, before she's able to do any more, a surprise visitor steps through a portal...it's Strange Supreme!

Benedict Cumberbatch reprises that role, with Jeff Bergman as Odin and the returning Clancy Brown as Surtur. As for those new characters, we have Echo star Devery Jacobs as Kahhori, Kiawentiio as Wahta, and Jeremy White as Atahraks.

What did you think of Kahhori's MCU introduction?

@vectorsigma - Yes. Yes it is.

@vectorsigma - so if a character is race swapped, nerds complain and say “just create a new character”. A new character is created and nerds complain that it’s just a DEI creation. You guys are exhausting.

@SuperiorHeckler - So it wasn't about raceswapping. You just don't want to see characters of a certain hue and gender, period. Gotcha. 🙄

Instead of something like: What if... the symbiote landed in Wakanda.

We get an episode like this🫠

Well the comments haven’t disappointed. I thought original characters were supposed to be ok or those get killed by the basement crowd too?

Feels like their point isn’t ever keeping some fake character integrity intact and more just crying about non white mens in general

@ShimmyShimmyYA - Not watched the episode yet to assess if good or bad but when you have a story about going back in time before colonization and you have folk bitching about 'DEI' and shit...

...as you say thought original character was what those sort said was how to do inclusion and instead not even allowed to do stuff set in centuries past that isn't about the select few white guys they seem to think are the be all and end all.

They want everything to be varied and not formulaic yet want everything to stay the same/return to the old formula. I tell ya folk never seem to know what they want as always seem to contradict themselves all the time here.

@ShimmyShimmyYA - dude, original characters aren't just automatically considered good because they're original. You're acting as if agendas can't be pushed unless it's specifically race and gender swapping.

@ShimmyShimmyYA - you care about race, I do not. We are not the same

comicfan100 - 12/27/2023, 11:28 AM
@ShimmyShimmyYA - Yeah, that was all BS. They don't want to see POC characters, at all. And that goes especially if they're female.

@Apophis71 - They like to wank to bland character like Daredevil and want everything to same yet blame the studio for not giving directors creative freedom.

Just look at those idiots trashing Namor casting for not making him white and not accurate. He looks more accurate to the comics than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. But he's white so incels gave him a pass.

@comicfan100 - no I'm not.

Even iger has admitted these movies and shows are being made with agenda first and entertainment second.

All we've ever wanted was good shows and movies that didn't shove personal politics down our throats.
comicfan100
comicfan100 - 12/27/2023, 1:56 PM
@Origame - So its an agenda because you want to see the conquistadors as the good guys? Dang... poor misunderstood colonizers.

Elle79
Elle79 - 12/27/2023, 5:01 PM
@comicfan100 - Lol, no one is saying make the conquistadors the "good guys".

But it's hilarious that Marvel would push this ahistorical nonsense that native tribes were peaceful and then the eveil white folks came and disrupted their peaceful societies. It's not even remotely close to factual.

In reality, native tribes, especially in North America, were in a constant state of warfare. Murder, rape, slavery and tribal genocide were par for the course, and any tribe that dominated a land area did so militarily. It wasn't pretty.

Educate yourself, son.
Elle79
Elle79 - 12/27/2023, 5:03 PM
@GodHercules20 - You realize that being "accurate to the comics" has a lot more to do with ther character himself or herself rather than what ethnics background they are, right?

Namor isn't even CLOSE as a character to what he has been int he comics. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was and embodies the character even if he physically doesn't look like him.

God you woke morons seem to gert dumber by the day.
