JUPITER'S LEGACY: First Trailer For Netflix's Adaptation Of Mark Millar And Frank Quitely's Comic Series

Jupiter's Legacy arrives on Netflix on May 7th, and with a month to go until it premieres, the streaming service has released the action-packed first trailer for the series.

With Daredevil's Steven S. DeKnight serving as showrunner, there's a lot of excitement surrounding this small screen adaptation of Mark Millar (Civil War) and Frank Quitely's (Batman and Robin) adaptation of the hit Image comic book. The cast includes names like Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, Matt Lanter, and Ian Quinlan.

It's clear from this preview that Jupiter's Legacy will stick pretty closely to the comic series it's based on, and Netflix seems to have spent a lot of money on the first of its Millarworld projects.

"No legacy lives forever," reads the brief synopsis for the series. "The first generation of superheroes have kept the world safe for nearly a century. Now their children must continue their legendary ideals. From the mind of Mark Millar, Jupiter’s Legacy is streaming only on Netflix May 7th, 2021."

We're definitely expecting more to be revealed about this one over the coming weeks, and with the next few months light on superhero content, it should be a lot of fun exploring this world.

It looks like the comic. Has potential. Image Comics is doing its thing on the small screen these days.

This looks really cheap, almost like a class C movie.

@Zoldyck93 - That's the Netflix treatment for experimental first seasons. Witcher S1 didn't much better either. Hopefully we can notice improvements if they continue.

Had no idea what to expect, and I still don't. But I liked what Netflix did with the Umbrella Academy, so I'll give this try

Disappointed. CGI and costumes look so cheap. Would have thought this was a CW show not Netflix.

Amazon have shown with the boys you can get this right. Netflix needs to up its game a bit as the standard of its shows the last couple of years has gone down.

Tho I guess they probably don’t need to up their game as they have so much content already and are at the “too big to fail stage” atm.

Looks alright. Might give it a go if I've got time to spare.

I thought it could be Netflix's answer to The Boys. In terms of production value, it looks inferior. But it has potential, we'll see.

I know its a trailer, but the acting looks really stiff.

Production wise looks poor and the music choice doesn't helps, it won't be a huge hit

But that said, everything Josh Duhamel touches turns to shit so who knows.

This looks really good. Not tip-toeing around the comic book-yness at all.

I'm also surprised at how much hate it's already getting on here. Maybe I'm missing something. It didn't look all that bad, to me.

@comicfan100 - It's not DC or Marvel so most people don't know about it..

@ElvenKingSlayer - I thought it was supposed to look campy...
Teetering in pink flamingos territory it’s not supposed to be serious...we should be in on the joke that the costumes look ridiculous and their junk is square...we should be reminded that super hero comics are just soap operas with magic powers bring on Erica Kane!!!

Cool we need to expand comic book adaptations besides DC and Marvel these few years have been awesome.

Looks more like something from the CW and less like the tone in umbrella academy, which for some reason I was expecting. I'm normally a fan of Mark millars stuff, so will probably check it. not expecting much though. hopefully I'm wrong.

That was alright. A bit like the CW in terms of filming. Suits look fine. I think the color grading is what makes them look worse than they actually are. Netflix is such a Mish mash in terms of quality. Some things look amazing and others are just sort of a head scratcher.
