Happy birthday, witch.

The first teaser trailer for Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is now online, and with glimpses of occult rituals, demonic figures and a shadowy coven, the footage certainly lives up to the promise of a much darker take on the Teenage Witch of old.

Mad Men actress Kiernan Shipka takes on the role of the titular half-witch, who is seen here celebrating her 16th birthday while experiencing some macabre visions as her powers manifest.

I kind of high key love it? This is how you reboot- cut all ties from everything familiar to the original and remake everything from the ground up. Don’t let there be any confusion that this should be the same as the old tv show sitcom, establish a set tone and style.

@Kyos - Ah! Didn't even know this existed. Still they've never tried adapting this particular version so all the people saying "closer to the books and more like the comics and reboot done right" is still a weird perspective given the original source.

I'm surprisingly impressed with this teaser. Looks closer to the books. Could it be we have a reboot actually done right??

@TheLight - What books? I thought it was based on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which was an Archie comic and fairly light hearted.
