The Witcher is set to hit Netflix on December 20, and we now have an action-packed final trailer which is our most plot-heavy look at the show yet.

The footage focuses on the Nilfgaardian invasion which will ultimately lead to the Northern War (if we get that far in the show), as "an army of black and gold" lays waste to Cintra in an attempt to capture Princess Ciri (Freya Allan). Fortunately for her, a very capable protector is on hand in the form of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill).

The teaser also features more of Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), a glimpse of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, and a funny moment between Geralt and Jaskier, aka Dandelion (Joey Batey), right at the end.

Check out the final trailer below along with all of the previously released posters and stills, and let us know if you're looking forward to The Witcher in the comments.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Sorry if I'm just clueless on the actual reason - but could the Witcher dropping next week be why Mandalorian was pulled back a couple days?

I mean, I'm personally glad that Mando moved if that were the case.

@Kurne - Doubtful, if anything The Witcher would move to accommodate The Mandalorian, that show already has a cult-like following with only 5 episodes and the last two weren't even all that good.

Although I really hated the Nilfgaardian armor, honestly it looks pretty decent here with proper lighting.

I'm still unsold on Cavill. I desperately want to love his Geralt, but he's just... so... Cavill.

@Spock0Clock - I thought I was the only one. Cavill has no Charisma at all, it almost seems as if he thinks acting revolves around his good looks. Watched Mission Impossible again and I mean Tom Cruise danced around him. Cavill needs to get a clue that acting is not all about trying to look like a pretty boy in every shot, its about showing range.

Looks good so far. I`m looking more forward to the Wheel of Time, tbh.

Cavill looks cool and wooden as ever

Really excited for this show. Still haven't read the books (I want too) but the trilogy of games were fantastic
