According to Business Insider, Vice President Of International Originals Kelly Luegenbiehl revealed during Netflix's press event in Rome that The Witcher's first season will be a short one, with only eight episodes. Though this will be longer than Castlevania's four-part season one, this may still be disappointing for some fans, considering that series produced by Netflix are rarely shorter than the "standard" 13 episodes.

Yesterday, we reported that Netflix's The Witcher won't be released before 2020, and even this is an optimistic date as work on the script for the highly anticipated series is still unfinished and requires more time. The series is expected to start filming this Fall mostly in Poland, Eastern and Central Europe, and The Witcher crew is currently focusing on the pre-production and location scouting.

The series was officially announced last May and we still don't know a whole lot about the upcoming adaptation. Screenwriter and producer Lauren S. Hissrich has already finished working on the pilot episode and Netflix plans to adapt the first two books, Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish. Sean Daniel, Jason Brown and Platige Images' Jarek Sawko and Tomek Bagiński are producing the series.

I don’t care too much about the amount of episodes as long as the quality holds up. I prefer 3 excellent episodes over 20 mediocre ones.

With everything that Netflix bets for the genre Sci-Fi,they would have to produce some Show or some movie of the Nintendo classics.

Is this animated or live action? I never played the games but Id be down for a cool live action fantasy series.

If this does well and I expect it will the next show Netflix needs to give the live action treatment is Rifts. Seeing what they could Do with that world would be exciting. The best way to describe that universe is if Star Wars was on Earth, but there was a horror side to it too.
