During this past weekend's Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm shared the first trailer for The Bad Batch season 2 (if you missed it, be sure to check it out by clicking here).

Now, that's been followed by a new look at the badass team. As you can see, they all have new looks and have updated their wardrobe. Their armour is now a bit more patchwork, while Omega even has her own helmet. There's a little more colour too, with executive producer Brad Rau explaining, "We worked really closely with Dave [Filoni] to make sure they look right"

"We iterated on these characters to get that kit-bashed, worn-through feeling, which really mirrors where they’re at at this point, very early on in Season 2," he continued.

You can take a closer look at how The Bad Batch has evolved below, but this team of enhanced clones definitely looks even more unique now. Omega has also been a hit with Star Wars fans, so seeing her step up and get involved in the action promises to be very exciting in this next batch of episodes.

In season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, months have passed since the events on Kamino and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.

The second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch consists of 16 episodes and is set to premiere this fall exclusively on Disney+.

The one place most star wars fans can agree on : animation

Clone wars, bad batch and rebels, good

resistance bad

@dracula - I actually kinda liked Resistance, but it's animation style is what put me off

@bkmeijer1 - I actually can't stand the animation styles for all of these shows.

The 3D look just lacks life and style for me. I'm really hoping with Star Wars Visions that Disney tries something new.

@Kumkani - early Clone Wars and all of Rebels were rough to get into, but I think the style for later Clone Wars seasons and Bad Batch are doable.

Star Wars Visions definitely has some style though. Kinda hope that for future seasons they choose other countries' studios (maybe French studios for S2?)

@Kumkani - a solid half of the first series of visions was crap. New doesn’t mean better. It took a long while for me to adjust to the animation style but once you get past it the story carries the shows.

Wonder what kind of role crosshair will have going forward, he still with the empire or is cody taking over the hunt for them

@dracula - would be fun to see the conflict between those characters. Bet Crosshair will be pissed when he sees the Empire sending in Cody to finish his job

Episode 3 was NOT GOOD. Not good at all.

@Yuhio - I liked episodes 1 & 2, I had some gripes. Everyone except you seems to love episode 3 so I don’t feel so alone now because I agree with you. It very much so felt like a Disney channel show opposed to some big budget spectacle. I burst out laughing after Obi-Wan and Leia started running past the laser gate and they zoomed out and revealed there was a gap they could’ve just walked around. A lot of people saying Vader was cool and I just wasn’t feeling any of it unfortunately. Very ham fisted and just cheap. Everything seemed like it had no intent or purpose. I hope the last three episodes offer something more.

@PhoenixBlade - I agree with all of that. My biggest issue with the whole show overall is the cinematography. It's very bland so far. That's not a budget thing, that's a creative choice thing. The Mandalorian has some gorgeous cinematography. They both use the same technology. Same stage. And in the case of Chow, the same director. But this show lacks any real visual "umph" This episode had all the visual flare, and scale of a mid-tier fan film. Very underwhelming.

@DarthOmega - 100% agree on that right down to fan film comment. Most films and shows have purpose in every shot while this just seems like they wrote a script and went straight into filming without any real plan. I think a lot of it looks like behind the scenes footage opposed to intentional cinematography. Action set pieces in Star Wars typically take place in a great location. But a dusty looking field with some oil rig looking things and shipment containers, so bland. Those kind of locations work for gritty fights in a stylised manner. Like you say though, there’s no flare so they couldn’t even make the location work to their favour. The editing really gets me too. Shots lingering too long, scenes not meshing together well. Episode one gets me the most with the editing. Everyone has mentioned the branch in the chase scene, but right at the beginning of the chase Flea starts running and then suddenly stops as if the shit was meant to be edited to be half a second shorter, but instead an outtake was left in. Seems very rushed in every aspect. Like you said about the fan film vibe, if it was a fan film you’d watch it and think “With proper filmmakers this could be really good because there’s some good stuff in here.” Issue being that this has been made by very competent people.

@PhoenixBlade - "this just seems like they wrote a script and went straight into filming without any real plan."

That's the exact vibe I got.

What gets me, is they used StageCraft "Volume" tech for this show the same way they did the Mandalorian. Even bringing on the same director who directed one of Mando's best episodes. All of that looked very cinematic. The same tech was even used for The Batman film recently for some of it's biggest scenes. They did such a great job, I, and apparently everyone else didn't even realize it until they unveiled it. And EVERYONE praised that film for it's cinematography

Again, that has nothing to do with budget, and everything to do with the creative vision. This show is way too important for the entire saga to give it such a lame, uninspired, utilitarian TV feel.

I wonder what Filoni's plan is gonna be with the whole Imperial cloning plan. It will probably end with Snoke or Dathan, but I am interested to see how he's gonna get there
