STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH Star Dee Bradley Baker And Producer Brad Rau Tease Omega's Role In The Series

Omega is one of the most intriguing additions to the Star Wars Universe we've seen in some time, and star Dee Bradley Baker and producer Brad Rau have now opened up about her place in The Bad Batch.

The series premiere of Star Wars: The Bad Batch is now available to stream on Disney+, and CBM was recently on hand for the show's global press conference, with producer Brad Rau and voice actor Dee Bradley Baker among those in attendance.

During the event, they were both asked about Omega, a character who looks set to be a major new addition to the Star Wars franchise (we won't spoil anything here). In fact, it  doesn't feel like an exaggeration to say that she could be a game-changer for this Galaxy Far, Far Away, with the young girl potentially factoring into future stories.

Describing the relationship between Hunter and Omega as "fascinating," Baker added: "It's interesting, in terms of the story and the writing, to have this kind of personal relationship with the younger character and to see how that changes and how they accommodate that and how that works. It's more of an uncle/niece or a father/child dynamic, but not entirely."

"Because Omega has her own interesting potential of powers [Laughs]. Maybe," he teased. "So, it's interesting to see all of that unfold. I think it connects you to the story in a personal way. So it's not just an action story as Star Wars never is. There's a personal story that's also playing out as well that connects you to the entire story."

Rau elaborated by explaining the importance of Omega to the series as a whole.

"She's so great. This time period, that as a fan, I'm just so excited to see because we haven't seen that much about the rise of the Empire. So, to have these clinical, best of the best soldiers as suddenly fish out of water in this changing galaxy, and to have this kid that they help raise in a very parental way. It's a two-way street, honestly, and the way that that works is that none of them are really equipped to go out into the world."

We definitely can't wait to see where Omega's story goes next, and it's clearly going to play out over the course of this series during the weeks and months to come. Will we see a live-action version? We certainly wouldn't be surprised if it happens one day.

Her having the same haircut as Palpatine made me think she's a clone of him made by the Kaminoans to have leverage over Sidious.

But I could be waaaaay off

How many years have passed between Episode II & III? Haven’t been watching the series but seems like it’s been on forever, a span of like 10 years?

Sounds like Omega is as much a lead as the titular team. Wonder if Omega stays exclusive to this show though, or will show up in other shows like Mandalorian or Boba Fett.
