THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Season 2 Looks Unlikely But The Character's Story Will Continue In THE MANDALORIAN

According to a new report, there are no immediate plans for a second season of The Book of Boba Fett, but the iconic bounty hunter's story does look likely to continue in The Mandalorian season 4...

Over the past couple of weeks, we've heard that production on The Mandalorian season 4 has been delayed as a result of the ongoing WGA strike. Initial reports suggested its start date was pushed back to September, though there's also chatter about cameras not rolling until November.

The scripts for this next batch of episodes were completed prior to the strike and sets are being built, including Slave I Boba Fett's Firespray Gunship. That's understandably led to speculation about work beginning on The Book of Boba Fett season 2, but Bespin Bulletin believes otherwise (as we first reported on SFFGazette.com).

It's explained that The Mandalorian season 4 is the only Star Wars series in active development (aside from those we already know about) and, as of right now, there are no plans for more episodes of The Book of Boba Fett

In fact, the show doesn't appear to be in any stage of active production, with Temuera Morrison's Boba Fett set to return to being a supporting character in Din Djarin and Din Grogu's Disney+ series.

In some ways, that makes sense. After all, The Book of Boba Fett explained how the bounty hunter survived the events of Return of the Jedi and ultimately solidified his place as Tatooine's new leader. While there was room to tell more stories, the response to the spin-off was a little tepid and the story wasn't what many fans wanted to see from a character who was arguably at his best as a mysterious badass.

That post-credits tease about Cobb Vanth needs to be addressed in some way, though, and we're sure an episode or two of The Mandalorian season 4 could manage that before giving Fett a role in Dave Filoni's planned movie (we'd love to see him cross paths with Grand Admiral Thrawn).

The strike is close to being resolved, so here's hoping that leads to some more definitive updates on the Star Wars franchise's small screen future soon.

The Mandalorian season 4 is expected to premiere on Disney+ in late 2024/early 2025.

It’s probably for the best. I did like Boba more on The Mandalorian than his own series. I even found his story on Clone Wars more interesting.

I think they did a great job of losing the mystique of this character and ensuring that most of us don’t give a shit about him anymore. Great job guys.

Mando made me care about Star Wars. This last season and Boba made me not care again. It’ll have to be something special to get me back on the band wagon.

Boba's story did continue in The Mandalorian. They just called The Book of Boba Fett Season 1 instead.

Boba Fett was a better and more interesting character in season 2 of Mando than is his own show. He suffered from the Man of Steel effect: had to incorporate another popular entity onto his show like Batman in BvS.

Yeah cause they did such a great job continuing it in season 3 of Mando

After being overshadowed on his own show that seems appropriate.

Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan were atrocious shows, never ever do that again!

Boba teaming up with Din, Ahsoka and other Post-RotJ heroes against Thrawn sounds great.

"The strike is close to being resolved" Really? I haven't heard anything about that yet. Let's not count our eggs so soon.

For me, Andor is the best SW series (10/10), and Book of Boba Fett is faaaaaar the worst (2/10)

Considering the best episodes of the series were essentially Mandalorian episodes......

hear me out.
Boba Fett is only great as a side character. It's such pointless to make a spin-off just about him.
