THE MANDALORIAN: Fired Actress Gina Carano Claims She Was "Bullied" By Disney In New Interview

With her Hollywood career at an end (she's even been dropped by her talent agency), Gina Carano recently announced plans to team up with controversial news host Ben Shapiro to make some sort of independent film.

Now, Deadline has shared some excerpts from an upcoming interview between the two in which the fired star of The Mandalorian claims to have been "bullied" by Disney.

"I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before," Carano claims. "I’m not the only one that’s ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply. I could share a story which would turn things around in the media but I can’t because it would sell out a friend. Everyone is afraid of losing their job."

So, it looks like Carano's plan is to paint Disney as the villain in this scenario after she compared being a Republican to being Jewish in Nazi-controlled Germany and shared anti-mask messaging in the midst of a pandemic which has seen nearly 500,000 people die in the U.S.

It's hard to say what exactly the MMA star turned actress has up her sleeve, but she seemingly intends to take the fight to Disney. Alleging that other cast members have been able to share their political beliefs online without ramifications , Carano added:

"[The] thought of this happening to anybody else, especially to somebody who could not handle this the way I can, no, they don’t get to do that. They don’t get to make people feel like that, and if I buckle, it’ll make it okay for these companies, who have a history of lying, to be lying and to do this to other people, and they’ve done it to other people, and I’m not going down without a fight."

Stay tuned, eh?

While comments like these are noteworthy, fans are already moving on from Cara Dune. Carano, who now looks likely to spend the next few years moaning about being fired for social media posts she refuses to apologise for or acknowledge may have been a step too far, isn't going to change Disney and Lucasfilm's minds, and no legitimate outlets appear interested in speaking to her.

@Superheromoviefan - I have no doubt someone from Disney (or even Favreau/Kennedy/Filoni theirselves) talked to her directly about this and the conversation boiled down to "you need to cool it, or we won't be able to work with you anymore".

And is that bullying? Maybe sort of in some severely twisted logic. Disney/her bosses had all of the power in that dynamic, literally holding her career in their hands. But she had all of the choice.

By continuing to post this garbage Carano forced them to make a decision they surely didn't want to make. Either they keep her on even as she says things that make them uncomfortable personally and likely cost them money (through bad PR) or they cut ties with her.

Because Carano was about to sign a new contract, maybe there's a third option where she agreed to let her social media feeds go silent for the duration of the contract, but I doubt she would consider that a compromise.

I don't see how Disney really had any choice in the matter once it became clear that she was going to persist. They set reasonable terms (don't be an ass on Twitter) and she refused. At least, it was reasonable to me, and it's up to every consumer to decide if it's reasonable to them. Because this is happening out in the open, we can all have an informed opinion.

i'm always amazed when the politically right get asked to tone it down they come out as being 'bullied' and yet they refer to their opposition as 'snowflakes'. It seems you could set the temp to 'room temp' on them and they'd melt.

I'm SICK OF EXPOSURE STATEMENTS with NO EXPOSURE!!! Either say what happened and who did it, or shut up. She doesn't want to throw a friend under the bus? Fine. Stop the bus driver. This whole "they are monsters, but I won't tell" is conspirator dialogue, making you a safeguard for pieces of shit to continue and thrive. Penny, penny.
