VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Director Andy Serkis Reveals Whether [SPOILER] Could Return In A Sequel

Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis has shared his thoughts on potentially bringing back one of the movie's characters down the line, but be warned that MAJOR SPOILERS do follow from here...

Venom: Let There Be Carnage definitely delivered with that epic final battle, but it was a little disappointing to see both Cletus Kasady and Shriek killed off by the time all was said and done.

Cletus could quite easily return; in the comic books, the Carnage symbiote was also devoured by Venom, but that made the Lethal Protector sick, and it ultimately found its way back to Kasady. The serial killer, meanwhile, has been resurrected by his alien other on multiple occasions, so we may not have seen the last of those two.

Shriek, however, not only fell from the top of the bell tower in that cathedral, but also appeared to be crushed by the massive bell that landed on her. Despite that, Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis tells CBR that he believes the door could be open to more Frances Barrison down the line.

"Well, as you and I well know, in movies, you're never dead, really," the filmmaker teased. "Until someone screams - which is ironic, in her case! [Laughs]."

"But anyway, no," Serkis continued. "I think - look, depending on what happens in the future, depending on the appetite for the movies, etc., etc., etc., I think there's probably a way - there is a version where you could quite easily have her not be killed, if we wanted to go that route. [Laughs]"

It sounds like Serkis may have already given this some thought, but for now, it's looking like Venom could be about to set his sights on Spider-Man before squaring off with any new or returning foes.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is now playing in theaters.

I still can't believe this awful piece of digshit of a movie got so many good reviews and had one of the biggest opening of the year, but actually good movies like the new Suicide Squad movie that actually deserved all it's great reviews hardly made it's budget back. Yet this pile flaming garbage made almost $100 million in it's first week the standards for what's quality cinema have really sunk.

@DemonTweeks - No not at all the the MCU really pisses me and no movie movie like this has pissed me off like this movie did on years. It solidifies my strong hatred for what Marvel has become now under Disney, Feige & Arad.

@John456 - the suicide squad was complete shit until the final 30mins. Even though both venom movies are terrible, they're both better than that mess that Gunn put out

@BigPhilbowski - Huh actually no the new Suicide Squad actually had a good coherent story & great action scenes. Despite having some comedy in the movie it was surprisingly a pretty serious movie which is what I want and when there was comedy in Suicide Squad it was actually fun. Venom 2 was an awful that made a mockery of Venom turning him into a soft effeminate comedian and also turned Carnage who is one of my top favorite comic book villains into a freaking joke, Carnage is a villain who has limitless potential and he was turned into joke of a throwaway villain. Suicide Squad unlike this movie actually had respect for it's characters unlike this film.

@John456 - well the bar was pretty low after the first one, so expectations are easily met or surpassed really

@John456 - welcome to world of marvel., marvel movies makes all serious characters into joke but in early venom comics which I have not witness other venom fans said venom did do some funny things in comics before he got dark and serious in new series marvel did it to Thor 3 made everything into mockery joke Thor ask is he yeah he’s here no he’s dead ( look kids your at funeral instead of being sad you fun of dead people ) taskmaster marvel had fun with taskmaster my favorite villain I still watched movie knowing spoilers what can you expect marvel [frick]s things time to time manderian iron man 3 they got lucky with manderian in Shang chi to make up for there mistake I can tell you half theater didn’t like Shang chi I saw it twice in theater those people where on there phones be boared , I can keep going but don’t want make long list of things marvel has [frick]ed up marvel is not perfect fans think they in movies tv shows marvel mess up people quickly forget about it but dc they go on and on

@John456 - I’m a huge DC fanboy but Venom LTBC was just more fun and enjoyable than The Suicide Squad, not as quality sure, but definitely more fun and enjoyable

@John456 - no one gave a shit about The Suicide Squad. That's why it floped hard. Also the first Dune trailer got more views than TSS 3 trailers combined.

BigPhilbowski - 10/4/2021, 10:13 AM
@m1doriya - here's some breaking news for you. People have diffenrent opinions. Doesn't make it a lie. Venom and SS sucked. Venom, just a little bit less

MisterKite
MisterKite - 10/4/2021, 10:51 AM
@BigPhilbowski - BigPhilbowski - Now I'm not saying that your in anyway correct, but I will stand by that Tom Hardy's Venom, as a character, is more compelling than the entire cast of David Ayer's Suicide Squad. I would even go out on a limb and say the same for Woody Harrelson's Carnage; if he was allowed to go full "Natural Born Killers" with the character and had better lines to play with. But I have stuck by my man Gunn since his glory days of "Slither" and I was genuinely happy to see him back in his element for "The Suicide Squad". So while I disagree with you whole heartedly, I will say this unique take on Venom does deserve a bit more praise and I look forward to his possible future with the MCU.

I could see Shriek as a member of the Marauders in the MCU.

I'd like Serkis to come back for the 3rd one, but I can definitely see this being a "different director every movie" type franchise.
