VENOM 3 Adds TED LASSO Star Juno Temple In Undisclosed Lead Role

With Ted Lasso coming to an end, Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises, Killer Joe) has lined up her next gig: a lead role in Sony Pictures' Venom threequel alongside Tom Hardy...

Our first bit of major casting news for the third Venom movie here, with Ted Lasso star Juno Temple in final talks for an undisclosed lead role.

Deadline broke the news, but, as per usual, doesn't have any details on her character. There is already speculation that she might be playing Scream, who has been rumored to be introduced for a while.

Temple, who has also appeared in the likes of The Dark Knight Rises, Killer Joe, and Maleficent, will join Tom Hardy, who will reprise the role of Eddie Brock from Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. It's unknown if any other actors from the previous movies will return.

Venom 3 will be directed by Kelly Marcel, who was a writer/producer on the first two films. Plot details are virtually non-existent, but Hardy previously shared an Instagram post teasing Eddie Brock's "last ride," which would seem to suggest that this is will be the actor's final time in the role.

Surely that means a face-off with Spider-Man is on the cards... right?

Eddie/Venom did appear in one of Spider-Man: No Way Home's post-credits scenes, with a piece of the symbiote remaining behind in The MCU when Brock was zapped back to his own universe. This led to speculation that a confrontation might be imminent, but it's best not to draw any conclusions when it comes to Sony's "SPUMC!"

Let There Be Carnage ended with Cletus Kasady's (Woody Harrelson) apparent death (though that doesn't mean Carnage won't return), and Detective Pat Mulligan (Stephen Graham) seemingly being taken over by another alien symbiote, possibly setting up the debut of Toxin in this third movie.

Besides another symbiote, my out of left field guess is Silver Sable.

I don’t mean to sound rude, but is Juno okay? She’s been looking pretty gaunt on Ted Lasso recently. She’s lost a concerning amount of weight.

@santoanderson - as far as I remember, she's spoken about how she struggled with her mental health during covid, developed issues with hating her own body and lost weight. But she hasn't actually lost that much, it just more noticeable and looks worse because she already had such a small figure.

Just have the feeling it's more of the same. Venom fights symbiote from his rogues gallery on earth

In the comics, other than spiderman stuff (which we got none of here), venom joins teams, goes to space, gets involved with Knull. It's really a shame how they've neutered this character by keeping him on Earth fighting other symbiotes

Another crappy Venom movie? Jeez...

That's what happen when people support bad movies.

Or maybe I'm on the monority here and people really like those... IDK.

@Alucard28 - wouldn't say you're in the minority, but clearly many people like these movies and don't think they're bad ... or at least finds them entertaining.

Can’t wait for this series to be done so we can get a better Venom in the MCU when the symbiote attaches to someone.

I tried to watch Venom 2 again recently. It’s just such a hard sit … very little happening that I cared about and the “breakup” with Venom was so cringey.

But I tried.

To anyone who has bought a ticket to this franchise and has allowed 3 of these mediocre garbage to be spawned...

Lol. But seriously though, I can't understand what people see in this.
