Deadline is reporting that English actor Stephen Graham has joined the cast of Sony Pictures' upcoming
Venom sequel, which has Andy Serkis (
Breathe;
Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle) set to direct and Tom Hardy returning to star as the titular antihero.
Further details on his role are currently being kept under wraps.
Graham joins a cast that, in addition to being headlined by Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, will also feature Michelle Williams (
Fosse/Verdon) as Anne Weying, Woody Harrelson (
Zombieland: Double Tap) as Cletus Kasady/Carnage and Naomie Harris (
No Time to Die) as Shriek.
Serkis is directing with a screenplay from Kelly Marcel, who also penned the script for the original. Pre-poduction has seemingly gotten underway, which likely means filming should begin in the not so distant future, presumably at the top of 2020.
