As The Game Awards draw to a close, Paramount+ has debuted the first official trailer for their long-awaited Halo live-action television series, which hails from executive producer Steven Spielberg.

The trailer opts to stay relatively light on action, but we do catch a look at Master Chief and a few select cast members. The footage plays out to an intriguing voiceover from Cortana (Jen Taylor), who teases "a new beginning."

Pablo Schreiber will star as Master Chief, with a supporting cast consisting of Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey, Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha, Charlie Murphy as Makee, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosky, Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Olive Gray as Miranda Keyes, Kate Kennedy as Kai-125, Natasha Culzac as Riz-028, Bentley Kalu as Vannak-134, and Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes, with Jen Taylor returning as the voice of Cortana.

While a premiere date wasn't attached, the series is expected to start streaming in early 2022, so expect some major updates over the next few weeks.

Check out the first-look trailer below:

Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.

I know nothing about this game series, stayed away from it cause I tpyically don't like First Person Shooters. I'll have to see more of what the story is about but this looks pretty good so far. The Cinematography especially is amazing. I'm happy for Halo fans.

@Mrcool210 - same here. First person shooters use to make me dizzy I can play them now but I never got into halo heavy. I’ll be checking this one out though

I feel like this series is a good 10 years too late. But it looks good.

Did the woman speaking in the trailer remind anyone else of Jor-El’s speech from “Superman: The Movie”?

Looks good but honestly don’t be putting out a glorified teaser calling it a trailer. Snake eyes did the same thing.

Also I'll admit paramount plus was one of those streaming services where everything they announced no matter what it was I never wanted to try it.

If the show looks as good as this does in other trailers it may he the show they gets me to try it out

Halo has always been one of my favorite games, but I've never been sure how you translate what made it great onto a show or movie. Fingers crossed they pull it off

@OmegaDaGrodd - It's easy, just like anything else. You follow the source material. In this case, the original trilogy of novels would be perfect to start the first 2-3 seasons. Then jump into the games.

Looks promising.
I'm still not getting Paramount+ though.

Man, even with the budget and how "good" they look, the Spartan armor still looks fan-filmy for some reason...

There's just something about Halo's aesthetic that doesn't translate well to live-action. At least not yet, IMO.

Ok, the Halo fanboy in me can't not be excited for this.

I've given it shit but I need it in my life.

The effects/CGI actually do look pretty sick. But, seems like there’s a lot of cheaply shot humans-talking scenes, instead of fighting aliens on epic worlds. Not gonna lie, kinda gives me SyFy show vibes but with a bigger budget.

@DanFlashesShirt - You can't just make a series of Chief fighting aliens nonstop. There has to be a plot, which means people talking.

I'm actually looking forward to this. There isn't a lot they can go wrong with, and it's about time we get more live-action Master Chief after Forward Unto Dawn
