Just moments ago, NetherRealm Studios' creative director Ed Boon officially announced on his personal Twitter account that Injustice 2 will arrive in stores for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on May 16, 2017, just in time for summer.

The game, which is a sequel to their 2013 smash hit Injustice: Gods Among Us, is expected to continue the original game's story as Batman and his team of superheroes attempt to piece together society while once again coming into conflict with those that want to restore Superman's evil regime. Meanwhile, a major new threat rises and puts Earth's future in imminent danger.

The new roster of heroes will feature DC mainstays, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman while also introducing a plethora of other DC favorites like Supergirl, Harley Quinn, Blue Beetle, Gorilla Grodd, and Deadshot.

Excited but not really, cause we're still going to have to pay for characters. Im an oldschool gamer that will always be lame to me.

NetherRealm is on a hot streak with these fighting games! Now if someone would just do a proper Marvel Universe fighting game...

@AnimatedTdot -
Yeah, but that's not a Marvel game. That's just a crossover.
