When you think about it, there really no way to develop a story around the Tetris video game... It's a game that really has no story. Instead, the upcoming movie will be based upon the true story of how one man staked his life on Tetris to overthrow the KGB and become a worldwide phenomenon. Game creator Alexey Pajitnov will be portrayed by Taron Egerton (Kingsman). Check out the first official trailer for the upcoming Apple original film below!

Jon S. Baird is the director of Tetris, which was written by Noah Pink. The film's executive producer is Iain MacKenzie. The producers are Gregor Cameron, Len Blavatnik, Claudia Vaughn, Gillian Berrie, and Matthew Vaughn.

The Story Behind The Game

The iconic video game Tetris was developed in 1984 by a Soviet programmer by the name of Alexey Pajitnov. While employed at the Moscow Dorodnicyn Computation Centre of the Academy of Science of the USSR, Pajitnov created the game.

The game was influenced by Pajitnov's curiosity with item attributes and his love of puzzles. The mathematical idea of polyominoes, which are geometric forms made up of squares connected along their edges, piqued his curiosity in particular.

In his leisure time, Pajitnov started playing with polyominoes, making different forms and attempting to fit them together in various ways. He eventually had the thought to design a game where players had to connect falling polyominoes to create lines.

The original Tetris was a straightforward black-and-white game that was played on a Soviet Elektronika 60 computer, which was primarily employed for performing scientific computations. The game was given to Pajitnov's coworkers, who rapidly grew enamored with it.

When copies of the game were transferred from person to person, the game quickly grew beyond of the boundaries of the computing center. Tetris was given a license to a British software company named Andromeda in 1986, and they later converted it to many personal computer platforms.

One of the most well-known and enduring video games of all time, the game's popularity further increased once it was launched for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1989. Tetris has now been made available on a huge number of platforms and is played by millions of people worldwide.

True, there have been a number of Tetris competitions over the years, including the 2010-starting Classic Tetris World Championship (CTWC). The CTWC is a yearly competition that pits the top Tetris players from around the globe against one another for the title of world champion. Many admirers are tuning in to watch the competition online as the tournament grows in popularity.

Tetris will be accessible on Apple TV+ starting on March 31.

I'm a little upset they only used a few notes of the Tetris song, and those are hidden behind Final Countdown.
