Superheroes dominated this year's E3 video game conference; Sony PlayStation showcased a brand new original Spider-Man title, along with revealing that the massively successful Arkham franchise will be continuing with Batman: Arkham VR. The rest of the DC Universe will be reuiniting once more in Injustice 2, but there has yet to be any sort of announcement regarding solo adventures for DC's other heroes (aside from a long-rumoured Superman game being developed by WB Montreal).

In an interview with IGN, WB Games President David Haddad spoke about the future of DC's games; when asked on the potential of more solo titles for DC heroes, he responded, "DC is an enormous priority for our entire company, and we're thrilled that games can really support franchise building at almost the same level as movies and television can."

Given that DC's cinematic universe has now officially launched with the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the upcoming Suicide Squad, Haddad was pressed on whether WB Games might focus on some movie tie-in games for future releases, to which he replied that their plans for DC games go much further than adhering to the DCEU film guidelines. "We get asked that question, 'Are you making movie games?' And that is so far from the way that we approach the business and the industry," Haddad said. "Fundamentally, these things have to work as great games and great game franchises." Given that movie tie-in games have a reputation of being rushed and not very well-received, this approach makes sense, and should no doubt be positive news for fans.

@Doomsday8888 -

Does it make Superman a more sympathetic character or happier/hopeful?

It would be great to see the comic book genre take hold of the video games the same way the movies have. If what Marvel and DC are telling us now is true, we could see some great games based off our favorite characters.

@glades7 - ambass, scorp and rulk are cool! I can imagine it being a cool party over there.

Hopefully they restore the chat room soon.

What I miss is the Hall of Shame. Once or twice I saw myself reported by a crazy who just reported people right and left out of the blue. It was funny
