What characters are completely overpowered and overused because of it?

For those of you who haven't played or haven't even heard of it, Injustice is probably the best fighting game to be released in years. The game has a similar fighting style to that of Mortal Kombat 9 but incorporates the use of interactive arenas. The game is based on DC Comics' Justice Lords storyline essentially. So far, I have heard no bad reviews on the game from those who have played it, so if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend grabbing a copy and trying it out.

Now onto what I really want to discuss, overpowered and overused characters.

Since this game launched, players have started to notice that certain characters have a very unfair advantage, and anytime they are used in game it's almost guaranteed they will win. Who are these characters you ask? Well here's my list:

Superman:

At first, I didn't believe what people were saying about him. I mean I know he's powerful. He is Superman after all, but after today, I get it. In an online match you will see Superman. It's unavoidable. Some will play the way the game should be; combos, specials, and power attacks mixed throughout a match. Then, you have the spammers, the ones who only use and exploit the power attacks that allow near seamless repetitive use. Spammers will almost always use Superman as follows: superbreath to knock you back the jump into the air and use laser vision to cover almost the entire arena from ground to ceiling in laser vision and then just repeat this tactic in a rinse rather repeat kind of way until they win the match. If that isn't irritating enough Superman has an ability that allows him to hit regardless of block.

Green Lantern:

Everytime I see a Green Lantern, I expect this exact combat. Ring grab slam into a battering ram which is used all the way across the arena. Upon reaching the end they will ring grab to flip you to the opposite side then ram you again til you reach the end and rinse rather repeat until you are dead. Usually taking no more than a few seconds.

Deathstroke:

This guy is insanely irritating. Not only is he a powerhouse in terms of attack power, but he is the spamming machine. Whether it's the pistols, heavy machine gun, or sword it can be spammed again and again and again. In many matches Deathstroke is untouchable because of this.

Catwoman:

Not even a spamming issue, Catwoman has been made incredibly quick and powerful. Her quick movement allows her to go as low as squatting level and run up to an opponent doing a ranged attack before the attacks movement is finished then can put you away quickly with a combination of claw attacks and whip strikes. The woman is scary. Every time I see her come into play, I pretty much know it's already a lose.

Aquaman:

Aquaman's trident gives him a ridiculous advantage in every match. He can be spammed by throwing the trident, stabbing you with the trident, or just over the head striking you with it. Add to the fact his power level is the same as Superman's and he becomes one of the most frustrating characters you will see in game. Even in the storyline mode, the computer will spam his attacks again and again and again.

Well that is my list. Feel free to share any and all characters you think are overpowered and overused or any disagreements to my accusations. This article is merely a means to inspire conversation and is my own personal opinion.

This article should be renamed "the best characters in Injustice". Pretty much covered the 5 characters I use the most!

Yeah these guys are pretty cheap, but I love them for all that you mentioned. Catwoman is fast and good at close range. Deathstroke is good at any range, and so is Lantern. Aquaman is the best long-range guy, too, with that trident stab in the ground that can hit you anywhere. I guess you could call the game unbalanced a little.
Not good for a fighting game

Deathstroke and Aquaman are both bullshit. I love this game, I really do, but they need to debuff Aquaman for real. And a handful of other characters

This is so true, its unbelievable. I hate the way DC is trying to stuff these crappy characters they think can be made Batmanesque or can hang with Superman cool.

Green Lantern is a crap`character, his movie proved it. No one cares apart from comic nerds.

Supermans cool, but tell me when the [frick] superman could kill Captain Marvel with freeze breath?

How the [frick] does Green Arrow, who should also be on this list, save Wonder Woman from Ice lady or who ever the hell she is. Wonder Woman would murder both of them, not even breaking a sweat.

Same with Sinestro. I´m shit at the game, yet I can beat people who pull out 18 hit combos on me with Sinestro and Death Stroke. Its just DC trying again and again to sell characters that do not resonate with broader audiences.

DC need to focus on Flash Wonder Woman Manhunter and Shazaam. Apart from Superman and Batman, those are DC´s best creation, no matter what the 20000 people male nerds who buy green lantern comics say. They have better stories, more relevant, just as profound as Bats or Supes and are generally cooler. I´m not saying this about everyone, mainly Aquaman and Green lantern. Green Lanterns passable at best, but Aquaman has never and will never be cool. Catwoman a great character, but she´s over powered in this. She has speed that rival superpowered characters, she should be more stealthy and where the hell is Braniac?
