WONDER WOMAN Video Game Concept Art Leaks Online Just As Gamescom Gets Underway

A Wonder Woman video game is currently being worked on by Warner Bros. Games, DC, and Monolith, although there haven't been any updates since the Game Awards 2021 trailer reveal.

A Monolith developer accidentally posted concept art from what many people assume to be the studio's upcoming Wonder Woman game to their LinkedIn profile. The concept art was quickly removed but not before it was widely-circulated on social media.

The timing of the leaks has many gamers suspicious that more info will be revealed at Gamescom, which just kicked off earlier this week.

The Wonder Woman game was first announced at the 2021 Game Awards, where Warner Bros revealed that  Monolith Productions (Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War) would be leading development.

You can check out the concept art below.

It looks as if the video game might potentially take its cues from a multiverse storyline, as there appear to be three alternate versions of the Themysciran princess on display.

Alternatively, the warrior on the far right appears to be Monolith's take on Nubia, Wonder Woman's long-lost sororal twin who debuted in the pages of DC Comics in 1973.

Comic book fans are also speculating that the gunner in futuristic armor on the left might be based on a gender-bent Steve Trevor or an artistic take on Silver Swan or Veronica Cale.

While the game wasn't shown on the first day of the Gamescom video game expo in Germany, there is still plenty of time for a revel as the convention runs through Sunday, August 27.

Whether the leak was intentional or accidental, there's definitely a ton of buzz online about the game, at the moment. Monolith and Warner Bros. might want to seize the moment to formally share more concept art or perhaps a brief teaser even if they weren't necessarily planning a reveal at Gamescom.

Based on the teaser trailer from 2021, it looks as if Wonder Woman is called back to Themyscira to fight alongside old enemies and protect the island from some unknown threat.

There's currently no release date for the game, but stay tuned, as the prevailing thought online is that Gamescom is poised to change that.

I hope this doesn't mean there isn't Sword & Shield gameplay. The kind of seamless moves that you can implement in a lasso/sword/shield combat style can rival God of War.

DC games that would be really cool if made well: the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Greew Arrow, and Superman.

@Arthorious - Imagine a Green Lantern game whwre there is a separate mini game to design constructs that do different types of damages and assign them to certain button sequences that you can change up.

@Colton - Exactly, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom feels like a potential Green Lantern game at times, with all the constructs, especially after getting the "Autobuild" ability.

@Colton - I like that concept, definitely allows you to make use of the creative side of the Green Lantern. Something I think shows lack (at least fro John Stewart)

Wonder Woman could make for a good game in the vein of God of War.

How about just a good Wonder Woman game and cut the gimmick of playing as different versions who arent actually Wonder Woman.
