DARK PHOENIX Unleashes Her Destructive Power In This Latest Clip From Fox's Final X-MEN Movie

20th Century Fox has debuted another clip from what has now been confirmed as the studio's final X-Men film, Dark Phoenix.

The sneak peek begins with a military officer questioning Magneto (Michael Fassbender) in Genosha about the whereabouts of Jean Grey (Sophie Turner). Eric refuses to give up the young mutant, but it's a futile gesture because Dark Phoenix decides to take over and make her presence known in the most destructive way possible.

Magneto attempts to kill Jean in a previous clip, so we're not sure why he's protecting her here. Perhaps whatever carnage Grey unleashes on Genosha is what ultimately forces his hand.

In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

Starring James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Evan Peters, the film is set to be released on June 7 in the UK (as X-Men: Dark Phoenix) and the U.S.

RealD 3D

This RealD 3D poster revisits the eye motif of the recent Black Hole promo image, as several of Jean Grey's former friends and teammates are reflected in her powerful peepers.

We know the fury of the Phoenix Force will claim the life of Mystique, but are any of the others destined for fiery ends?

IMAX

Speaking of which, this striking IMAX poster for the movie sees Jean standing atop a mountain of ash and debris.

Can we expect to see The Dark Phoenix burn it all down like Daenerys did on last night's episode of Game of Thrones?

Dolby

The Dolby exclusive poster features a very comic book-inspired look at most of the main team members standing together, while Jean Grey floats above in Dark Phoenix mode, destroying the iconic X-Men logo.

That looks really good. I'm not expecting anything like the comic saga, but it still looks like we're getting a good film.

So before the debates begin, or the people come on here to say whether or not they are looking forward to this...just a reminder that the quality (or lack thereof) has been hashed and rehashed over and over on these forums. You know what you're going to get from an X-Film, and if you're ok with that...then go see it. If you're more choosy on what films you support, then go see something else. Or read a book

:)

this scene is out of context but that was a pretty unimaginative display for someone who is supposed to have so much power

@HeraldNumber7 - yea. In reality, her power should look a lot like Wanda's during IW and Endgame.

Or Thanos when using the power stone.

@BlackBeltJones -

yup yup.

i forgot how glorious that shot was. man...

speaking of endgame, for as much as i like it i'm still a tiny bit irked that they defeated another Thanos as opposed to the one they (and we) all had a vendetta against. it made it hard to invest in the drama of the final battle as much as i wanted to be.

it's like if an alternate universe Tony came in and did the snap instead of "our" Tony. just doesn't register as powerfully.

The new Emeli Sande music video is in association with film and lots of new footage + reveals a character cameo that makes sense as to why they have an original song for the film

I'm gonna be that guy that says everything I've seen so far hasn't been nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be, it actually looks pretty good ... It will at the very least be better than X3 and Apocalypse.

@CBMFilmJunkie -

i agree to an extent. i wouldn't say it looks pretty good, but rather just fine.

definitely not as bad as the stink on it would have you believe. i think folks are trying to make this into a Fant4stic situation because they love a trainwreck.

It’s a post-Deadpool/post-Endgame world for comic book movies.
An under-developed character using near-infinite reality warping powers to make a helicopter tip over ain’t gonna cut it anymore.
Fox made this movie like it was still the year 2000. It was awesome to watch the first X-men movie back then but Fox just didn’t keep up with the times.
