According to Deadline, Fox are moving ahead on the X-Men spin-off starring Gambit and have hired Robocop scribe Josh Zetumer to pen the screenplay. After being strongly rumoured and confirming that he was in talks, Channing Tatum is finally officially attached to star in the movie. You have to imagine that we'll see him make his debut in X-Men: Apocalypse, but there's no mention of that from the trade. Tatum is also producing with is Free Association partner Reid Carolin, and X-Men vets Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg. One of the most exciting parts of this news is the fact that the screenplay is based on a treatement written by legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont, the man who created the character alongside Jim Lee in 1990! Plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being however. What do you guys think? Share your thoughts below!

This could be good, it seems Fox are getting some good folks to make the movie.... they still got some more learning to do

@jamesman

I saw Foxcatcher too!!! I was very shocked by Tatum's performance, he's actually getting better now. But Steve Carrell deserves a Oscar award for his performance.

Robocop reboot is very underrated, I'm glad they went another path in that movie.

Claremont???

I need a Carlton dance gif stat!!!

I still am very unsure of Tatum as Gambit, but Fox has done a lot of improving since the years of X3 and Origins. I have faith they'll deliver on this one. Still, Apocalypse, Deadpool, and Wolverine 2 are higher on my list.

I wonder what year it'll take place in, and what year the other movies will take place in once First Class trilogy is over.

@dethpillow

That's one thing I'm worry about with Singer... He doesn't know action to well. X-Men Apocalypse scope, visual effects, and action HAS To BE on Avengers film level. If not then it's a huge fail for the franchise.

Tatum was great in Foxcatcher, the only people who want this to fail are the marvelites, get over it guys, Fox would never give the X-Men to Disney.

I have enjoyed most of the X-Men movies by Fox. Only ones I did not like were Wolverine Origins and X-Men last stand. The other movies have been great!

It is great that we have such talented directors and actors adapting one of the best comic book teams ever, the X-Men! Loving the golden era of the comic book movies so far. Let's celebrate folks!
