Rising Sun Pictures - created more than 260 visual effects shots for The Wolverine. RSP helped to recreate the World War II atomic bomb attack on Nagasaki, Japan. It also produced digital environments for a number of sequences, including a scene set in a snow-covered Japanese village, and combat effects such as digital copies of Wolverine's iconic claws for use in numerous scenes involving challenging stunts.

Make-Up Effects Group - 12ft animatronic bear - featuring full head animatronics: 6 puppeteers on the facial radio controls, 3 puppeteers buried under the bear creating all the gross body movements.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.

The Wolverine will be directed by James Mangold (Knight and Day), from a script written by Christopher McQuarrie.. The cast includes: Hugh Jackamn (Logan/Wolverine), Svetlana Khodchenkova (Viper), Hiroyuki Sanada (Shingen), Hal Yamanouchi (Yashida), Tao Okamoto (Mariko), Rila Fukushima (Yukio), Brian Tee (Norubo Mori), and Will Yun Lee (Kenuichio Harada/Silver Samurai). The film will claw into theaters July 26, 2013.

(Spoiler Alert) I wonder if they will continue these solo films for Logan? What's the next big story arc for Wolverine?? Since he lost his adamantium claws do you all think that the young William Stryker will have a much larger role in future X-Men films? Or possibly an origins story done correctly for Wolverine?? (End Spoiler)

I asked this in BlackWolverine's article but I'll ask it again here; who do you guys think killed the bear? Some argue that it really was the hunter, others argue it was Harada in an attempt to draw Logan out. Thoughts?

@WeaponX93 I never thought about it, but I could seriously see the idea that Harada killed that bear to draw Logan out being true....

@TheWolverine08
I read it in a film review where someone brought it up. They said that that's why they emphasized he had poison arrows. I felt bad that Logan didn't get to avenge his friend lol

@WeaponX93

I agreed to what you said bro! :) You thought it was Harada and it kind of made sense to me since he was the only one with the poison.You might be on to something, or perhaps a plot hole. lol

Christ will these people just make some damn claws for Jackman(and future actors) to wear plus give him some damn gloves(so he doesn't have to hold them)!

Crapy movie. Jackman, did an awesome job, but the real Wolverine does not get captured do to a poison arrow nor can his claws get melted off. if that the case the sword would have melted as well.

the bear could have been worse , the hate on wolverine is very comical . Everyone go to any movie in a pissed off skeptical mood please

and FYI Jorl5150 the bear wasn't the main villain , wasn't sure if you knew that , so menacing ??? not exactly the look they were going for .

@storyteller
He wears actual claws most of the time, but they're CGI when he needs to stab/slash someone up close or when they come out/retract.
