See what happens when FOX touches anything. All of a sudden you have Wolverine and Sabertooth storming Omaha beach with the AMerican 29th division in WW2... They are canadian. And sabertooth never served with James in WW2. Jeezus. I think Jackman already knows the movie is gonna be bad.

As far as Wolverine and Sabertooth storming Omaha beach, it comes down to the money men treating the U.S. audience with disdain once again. When you don't have someone who has absolute unwavering love for pre igsisting characters or material you get mindless mutations like this. It's like they think all Americans are banana heads and wont see the Wolverine movie if he storms JUNO beach with his birth country Canada. If it wasn't for J.K. Rowlings love for her books the wizard school would have been in the U.S.A.[An early idea that had floated around the socalled creative table by the suits.]. I don't have a problem with changes if it serves the film. When adapting a novel or comic to the screen some things that work in the original format don't work as well on the big screen.

I'm sorry, where in any of the pictures above did you guys see an american flag??? The answer's NOWHERE!!! What, you guys think that americans were the only ones to fight in that war? It was a WORLD WAR!!! Here's a little literature for ya:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_history_of_Canada_during_the_Second_World_War

I think you guys are just "programmed" to hate this movie before hand! And where in the comics does it "state" that Logan and Victor "DID NOT" serve together? It's not because they haven't made the issue to this date of them actually serving together, that it never happened. I think it's a damn good idea to have them established as fine war heroes before asigning them to the Weapon X program. Does something called "LOGIC" ring any bells???

AND YES HE'S SMOKING A FREAKIN' CIGAR LIKE HE ALWAYS FREAKIN DOES!!!! Somebody PLEASE call CNN!!! Get the president on the phone, Logan's smokin' a cigar!!!!

AND NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! There is no possible freakin way he could ever be in a Avengers movie in this freakin millenia if FOX HAS THE FREAKIN RIGHTS TO HIM!!!!! What as if they're gonna tell MARVEL :Here's some free money for ya, we don't need it! When they can't even give WATCHMEN to WB!!!!

jordomac - 12/2/2008, 10:10 AM
sorry Shaman but those are American soldiers. you can tell by they're uniforms so that is why we have the problem. we're not all so ignorant to think that only americans fought, you are the one with a hint of ignorance for not recognizing that they are Americans in that picture and calling us on it. If you google American Soldiers in world war II you will certainly find guys who look just like ones running with wolverine and if you look for Canadians, they will look nothing like that.

DDWilliams - 12/2/2008, 10:42 AM
"sorry" jordan heath but your wrong (kinda) their uniforms were pretty much identical i know this for a fact but what does give them away that they might be u.s. soilders is that ying yang patch they're wearing. In wwII there was this infantry that wore that patch dont remeber the number but they were nick named the "blue and gray"

Wouldn't it be cool if captain america was in this movie. They are in WWII, nice way to bring out the capt.

The war thing has been debated into the ground. From what I've heard from the director was that someone like Logan who has his power is a war junkie. He gets involved in any major war. Which could be the reason he's suited up alongside some Americans.
It does however look like him and Creed are part of a different unit from the Ying Yang branded ones, but the uniforms from the neck down are the same. So I don't know, maybe they are posing as American soldiers?

I'll have to see how they work it out on film before I roll my eyes.

FOX did make Colossus, unnecessarily, American... twice. So they could screw with this one as well. I'll be hard press to be surprised if the movie is a complete bastardization, I won't be happy because it's my favorite comic hero they're messing with, but like I've said before; A fail here can help FOX sell the rights back to Marvel Studios.

One more thing, it looks like they keep changing the length of his claws, now they're too short in the first picture. I mean, look how hokey that looks. Length of the forearm, FOX.
Shaman
Shaman - 12/2/2008, 11:34 AM
I Jordan, unlike you, have googled more than enough pictures to realise that both Canadian and Us uniforms are incredibly alike. Both have the same color, both bare the same huge pockets on each side of they're chest and both have the same helmets! But if you compare the uniforms on the pictures above to the "actual military issue" uniforms, they look nothing alike... either of them. Which meens they MADE these uniforms for the movie with they're own design. And if you notice closely on that picture, Victor, Logan PLUS A BAND OF OTHER SOLDIERS "don't" ware the Ying Yang patch meaning that there is more than one battalion there and as i recall, Canadians worked hand-in-hand with americans in that war. So YOU go Google!!!

This is nothing but a stupid and pathetic excuse to try and tarnish this movie before it even comes out. This is lame, go wag your rattle at something that deserves it! And yes the claws are a bit small, still that's not gonna make me picket in front of freakin theaters. This movie can still kick ass!
DDWilliams
DDWilliams - 12/2/2008, 11:53 AM
your right dont see a patch on wolverine but i do see one on victors shoulder anyways logan has a deep history and maybe.... somehow..... he lived in the u.s. during this time... maybe...
Vex
Vex - 12/2/2008, 12:04 PM
Chill, Shaman. I'm not going to picket in front of theaters either. I'm just pointing it out. It looks hokey, like giving Captain America a shield the size of a garbage can lid. It cheapens it from a production stand point. I'm not foaming at the mouth in rage about it. I'm merely pointing it out.

I want to enjoy this movie, I would like it to kick ass, I just don't have any faith in FOX. Like most posters here.

Shaman - 12/2/2008, 12:05 PM
Yeah, it's true, a covert op stealth uniform designed for Weapon X would be kick ass! No yellow spandex though and specially no freakin wiskers PLEASE!!!

That's funny though, the garbage can lid seriously LMAO!!!

Faith in the cast is where it should lie. This movie is going to ROCK! All you negative nancy's need to pipe it down, there's no reason for you to be irate about seeing a minute and a half trailer, and like 10 pictures, all of a sudden you get to determine how good or bad a 2 hr long movie is? Why precognition seems to be the norm here @ CBM. I wish I were in your guys' shoes and knew EXACTLY what sucks and what doesn't...Because that would be amazingly useful in more ways than just critiquing comic book movies.

He's not going to wear the classic uniform of ANY style, the closest thing you're going to get to a uniform, OTHER than the obvious military one, may be some mildly covert CIA gear, but nothing like Snake Eyes or Stealth Wolverine. Meaning, black leather with pockets and what looks like some gadgetry, MAYBE. But, rather unlikely in my book.

You may not have faith in FOX as a company, but have faith in the cast of characters slotted to play good roles in what looks to be a well done piece of film. Geez. Wash the sand out of your vuhginas and wait for a real trailer and the movie itself before passing judgement on something you haven't even watched more than 1% of the entire project. Of course, I guess that's just your natural precognition skills, right?

theres been so many different versions of logan and creeds past, so many takes, so many writers. so i dont care if they mess with some , mix some together or even make some up! because i know this movie is going to rock. the director is the main reason, gavin hood is no hack like brett ratner...also i obviously have no worries about mr jackman, or liev schreiber for that matter...all im a bit nervous about is how deadpool and gambit will come accross

I have faith in the talent(except Will.i.am). As well as the director, I've long said that he's a good choice because he seems to get the character.

But I've also read reports of FOX suits going down to sets and changing them without the director's knowledge. Only to have Gavin Hood come back from shooting something and see a set, he wanted to have a darker feel to, has been repainted to be brighter and more kid friendly.

It's things like that that offers little faith in FOX regardless of how great a cast and director they have. It shows they can railroad over artistic vision whenever they feel like it to sell more lunchboxes and pajamas.

I want this to work but at the same time I'm willing to look at the silver lining IF it does fail. The opportunity to get a better product down the road. Given FOX's track record I personally feel there is credibility to my fence sitting ways on this project.

I have faith in Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds and the Director, but maybe not Liev Schrieber. Of all the movies I have seen him in he has been good, but he has also played a very stoic character in all of them. Sabertooth is supposed to be vicious and animalistic. Even in the picture when they are charging into battle, everyone is yelling and he only has a smirk on his face.

I agree with Vex, Shaman and Ion. I think that the movie cannot be judged on a few pictures and a crappy trailer. I feel that this movie will most likely be good if you don't focus on the minor inaccuracies and look at the big picture. But I guess I'm not one to talk because I didn't like Spider-man 3 because of my nit-picking. I will most likely enjoy this movie because I am not a big fan of the source material. I feel bad for those who are big wolverine fans.
Shaman
Shaman - 12/2/2008, 3:05 PM
Well i kinda like the evil smile that Leiv has on his face headin' towards death. It's only logical and animalistic to enjoy being on the prowl to meet his unsuspecting prey.

Is it just me or... is Leiv Schreiber the "tech wiz kid" that discovers the fake photograph in Judge Dredd??? Mabe it's just me...

WW2 means bone claws, do you think we will get to see them?
arent wolverine and Sabertooth supposed to be mortal enemies... starting at some point WAY before ww2. its not that big of a deal though.
i doubt either one of them will pull out their claws in the ww2 scenes which is LAME.
lets hope this movie isnt garbage.
Shaman
Shaman - 12/2/2008, 3:17 PM
Well once everybody gets blown to bits, and he runs outa ammo, his bone claws and highten senses are what's gonna keep him alive! Then he walks outa there, gets thrown in the Weapon X project and gets his adamantium.

FYI:
The yin-yang patch was worn by the 29th INFANTRY DIVISION, they fought in the European Theatre hitting Omaha Beach while the Canadians hit Juno Beach on D-Day. Canadians also fought in major battles through out Europe and North Africa. . .
To judge the movie based on a hand full of photos is ridiculous and I'll wait for when the movie does come out to throw my $8.00 bucket of popcorn and $3.50 coke at it.

This is the perfect movie to let in Captain America. If Marvel does that, Wolverine might be in the Avengers. Marvel can freeze Captain America at the end of the movie. Now who wouldn't want to see that?
IonParallax
IonParallax - 12/2/2008, 6:05 PM
Yeaaa, not going to boycott the movie, ummm the whole thing DOESN'T take place in WWII, Gambit and young Scott come in LATER, ya know, as time moves forward.
He's not getting a damned costume, how many times does this need to be said...apparently several. Captain America is NOT GOING TO BE IN THIS MOVIE. That is a MARVEL STUDIOS movie this is a FOX movie. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. He has his own movie coming out BASED IN WWII in which he will be frozen at the end to make his appearance in AVENGERS. NO I don't want to see Wolverine in an AVENGERS movie, that's ridiculous. Yea he was an AVENGER at one point in time, but not during the times in this movie.

Look we all agree Fox shouldn't be doing this movie. As far as claws go, the Picture above Logan is kind of far away to really tell how long his claws are. Creed should more scruffy than Logan, but he doesn't. I still go check it out. It may be a dissapointment.

You know I used to be really critical about comic book movies until I learned 2 things...
1. Movies are made for a wider audience than just comic book geeks...while our group is large and can hustle up good money, the movie makers need to make sure that ANYONE could go to a theatre and enjoy this movie.
2. When I heard Stan Lee (WHORE!) say that it was really exciting for him to see someone take HIS character and put their own ideas, interpretations and art styles to it.
If Stan Lee is OK with all the versions of his character and the abominations that have sprung up (i.e: Unlimited Spider-Man anyone?) then I remain open minded for all that is to come.
Remember folks, anytime your favorite character makes money, weather you liked it or not it ensures that your character is still going to be marketable and therefore you will still see stories developed about them. Till they make Wolverine a female impersinator in feathers and sequens make mine Marvel (FOX or no FOX)!

I had to register for this site just to point out this other little tidbit that most of you arguing over the war scene failed to point out or even notice. Did you see the picture above the beach storming pic? It is a picture of Creed and Logan tied to a post while some soldiers stare them down. I am assuming these soldiers are part of the same team as the ones seen with Logan and Creed on the beach. How do we not know that Logan and Creed did not infiltrate the group, like they did so many times in their early adventures together, and were later caught, hence the two pics. The movie will be great and all of you know it.

1.) Logan has at least one memory of meeting Captain America (Steve Rogers) in World War II while he was in the Canadian Army which has been verified as true.

2.)from wikipedia inre Canadian Uniforms:Land personnel were issued new tunics and trousers similar in style to the old CF greens, but with the addition of shoulder straps. They were issued in heavy-weight rifle green (worn with the old CF green dress shirt) for winter wear,
