Why does Sabretooth run like an extra from Tim Burton's planet of the apes?

This looks so awsome!
"Do you even know how to kill me?"
"Im gona cut your head off...see if that works."
Is a BILLION times better than
"Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning? suck suck suckety suck..."

DarkJester - 12/15/2008, 11:38 AM
This looks fantastic, and clever too, i like the way sabertooth actually has a brain but i really want deadpool to have his mask!!!, even wolvy with his classic blue an yellow. what's wrong with costumed heroes, spiderman pulled it off, and so did batman to some extent.

It was always thought that he didnt get his claws until weapon x gave them to him..but when magento stripped the adamantium from his bones he found that underneath the metal, bone claws remained. which means he was born with them, the progamme just laced them with metal

thwhtGuardian - 12/15/2008, 12:11 PM
In his most recent origin story it showed him with his claws early on in his childhood. This looks like it's heavily influenced by that story line and I'm pumped.

Holding out hope for a Cap cameo and/or Weapon+ refs. Maybe we'll get Wolvie in the Avengers movie?

Without me attempting to put my only DC oriented mind to critiquing this bad boy, i have to agree with Rorshach01 (gotta love that name too buddy), NERDGASM! It looks so amazing... and i am in the same boat as Mogalike with the hopes of a Cap cameo.

Good sh!t, this is just what the doctor ordered, I've been missing some good old crazy-ass action to bad I'll have to with till may! And with Wolverine involved how can it not be good? This may even top X-Men 2.
adamant877
adamant877 - 12/15/2008, 1:00 PM
Color me "Nerd-tastic", but I was kinda hoping we would see a cameo by the Hulk, since that was one of his first missions under the Canadian government... Maybe throw it in at the end credits, maybe even elude to it. ;-)
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 12/15/2008, 1:09 PM
it would be great to see a hulk cameo..and a cap one and have wolvie in the avengers but due to both franchises being owned by different companies its highly unlikely. Never say never tho! if the money is right these studio bigwigs will do anything
QuaMan
QuaMan - 12/15/2008, 1:21 PM
The ending conversation between Wolvie and Sabertooth isn't as cool as on the origional bootleg trailer. Wolverine says, "I'm gonna cut your goddamn head off." Then Sabertooth smiled. Way more badass. And I love that Wolverine's hair is long!
Shaman
Shaman - 12/15/2008, 1:32 PM
It would be cool to see Hulk as well as Captain America. It would be also cool to see all of them in costume and it would be even cooler to see li'l Logan waiting for Santa Claus on Christmas eve, hiding behind the sofa after leaving milkn'cookies on the living room table. Then he hears some rustling on the roof top and wonders if it's him with glitter in his eyes. Then the next thing he hears is something shooting down the chimeney and then he see's Santa's bloody decapitated head rolling out of the fire!!! Then he sees a chained'up hook shooting down after the head, hooks on to it and pulls it right back up!!! As he screams, we can here a motorbike starting up and a deep voice saying "merry freakin' christmas ya bastich"!!!

How's that for hopes and dreams!!!
NoobMike
NoobMike - 12/15/2008, 1:38 PM
lol Shaman, the problem with that is that they'd have the fans vote on who would win Lobo or Wolverine on the christmas movie, and ignoring the character's abilities, they would vote for Logan to win. (Lobo really should have kicked Wolvie's ass.)
IonParallax
IonParallax - 12/15/2008, 2:00 PM
Hahahahahaha...Wolverine wins. Sorry, the fans voted, he won. It was a decade ago, let it go.

BUT, that would be sweet Shaman. Please, ANYBODY, check out the Paramilitary Chirstmas Special on Youtube. Lobo vs Santa vs Easter Bunny. Live Action, fairly short, good stuff.

He was born with the claws, they are part of his mutation. As apparent even BEFORE the Origins stories in Fatal Attractions where Magneto removes the Adamantium and Wolverine brandishes bone claws when he fights Cyber a few issues later (AFTER it almost killed him and his healing factor ALMOST fizzled out because of the trauma)
NoobMike
NoobMike - 12/15/2008, 2:19 PM
guess wolvie as a kid never had to get x-rays. Sure he had a healing factor, but still I have never broken my arms, and I have x-rays of them taken at some point in my life.

Is it just me, or does the blob look like someone who ate too much McDonalds, and not as an immobable force. Guess we'll have to wait and see how this movie turns out.

Although, just to rant a bit, doesn't it seem like it has too much? I mean, logan as a kid, wars, deadpool, blob, sabretooth, gambit, white queen, flying to a helicopter, boxing match, prison, card game, military intrigue, love, lovers death, frozen kid, etc. etc. If they are not careful with that, it could end like Wild Wild West.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 12/15/2008, 2:26 PM
I dont think the blob should be in this movie anyway..not because he doesnt fit in with logans backstory, because hes shite! i never liked the fat [frick]. "whats your superpower?" "im a fat bastard"

it does have alot to it, but im happy about that..i mean we dont know how these scenes are going to connect together or how the movies timelines will be handled, it probably wont be nearly as convulted as the trailer.

crappybumbum - 12/15/2008, 2:37 PM
Well I think this movie will be great! It looks awesome! I think it could be as good as Iron Man! At least, I hope it will be. And I think little Logan with the claws part could just be a dream that he has in the movie. But idt a sequel could work cuz this is an origins movie...
FrankGarret
FrankGarret - 12/15/2008, 3:46 PM
Could this be Fox's redemption?

Looks like it.

Also, noobmike, look at young Logan's dress. Late 19th century, X-rays weren't all the rays back then.
DJCheckPoint
DJCheckPoint - 12/15/2008, 5:19 PM
Man this looks good. I just did some freeze frame action and noticed that Logan as a boy, stabbing what looks like sabertooth or could be sabertooth's dad against the wall. Its at the 1:38 marker on the trailer. Check it out.
Crusader
Crusader - 12/15/2008, 5:21 PM
I think that this movie will have a magneto cameo. Ain't they comin out for a movie with him. Everyone is going way too far with capt and hulk, even though that sh!t will be nice.
IonParallax
IonParallax - 12/15/2008, 6:23 PM
Well Ror, I know the Blob does somewhat suck (especially now since he's NOT fat anymore and is a weight loss Guru in Japan. Seriously! After M-Day he lost his powers, which means he lost the fat, but NOT all the skin that came with it. He tried to kill himself, but couldn't cut through all that spare skin! Hysterical!) But he's got an impervious layer of fat tissue that is just about impervious, super strength, endurance, he's got a monodirectional gravitational field, which means if he directs it toward the ground, NOTHING will move him, short of ripping up the ground that he stands on, he's not moving.
IonParallax
IonParallax - 12/15/2008, 6:26 PM
No, the little Logan with claws thing is real, it's either a Flashback to when his claws first came out and he killed that guy...Or, it's in the beginning of the film BEFORE the title sequence. Either way, this movie is going to be SWEET! and the lack of "goddamn" is because it is a kid-friendly trailer. Like the difference between the relative action of Punisher's trailer, versus that MEGAVIOLENT redband thing of a trailer. Which was sickly violent, almost to a comedic level.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 12/15/2008, 7:35 PM
i thought the blob was ok in the xmen cartoons..i dont know he just has no real character, im surpried hes in this movie. is he even a popular character with the fanboys?

djcheckpoint i think thats baby wolvie killing sabertooths dad (his stepdad) after that dude kills logans real father..at least if it follows the origins comic thats prob whats happening
dxperry
dxperry - 12/15/2008, 8:03 PM
The movie looks great. I wouldnt worry about the "god damn" not in the trailer. They probably just cut it out for that trailer. It should still be in the movie. Wolverine is a not a kiddie kiddie character and movie makers have been better at sticken to comic origins lately so he should swear a good amount.

Man i hate the way sabertooth looks. he has a nail problem and some fangs, come on i know they coud have made him look better with him looking corny
NAPosey
NAPosey - 12/16/2008, 2:59 AM
Damn, looks like they're even going to mention Dog Logan. Awesome. I really hope Deadpool only looks like that for awhile, and then they either mention the cancer (and that shot of him was pre-mutation) or something like that. Deadpool without a mask is just wrong if they try and keep it that way. Sabertooth isn't true to the comics (seeing as how he was originally suppose to be Logan's dad, then amended to be more a visualization of what Wolverine would/could become [Sabertooth is supposedly much older than Wolverine]), but I'm actually okay with the creative licensing they took with him. I guess what it comes down to is anything is better than his role in the other movies (it's hard to completely ruin Sabertooth, but somehow the other movies managed to do it). So looks like they do Silver Fox in this one, maybe Yuriko for the next? I'd like to see a real Lady Deathstrike, not that lame one from the 2nd X-Men movie.

myy favourite comic book character has its own solo film..
this has been a dream come truee..
Shaman
Shaman - 12/16/2008, 8:10 AM
Yes well as for the claws as a kid, they are part of the mutation. So as a "young" kid he doesn't have them but they form themselves gradually with his healing factor and at a hightened state of stress in his teen years, the mutation shows it self (same as any other mutant in x-men history).

As for the adamantium, if Logan didn't have any bone claws, he wouldn't have any adamantium claws either as it is only to "cover" his original bone structure. Hense why he needs to have bone claws poppin out as a teen as well as have bone claws when Magneto removes his adamantium later on in his life.

And Roar, you're tottaly right on that one, Blob sucks! I wan't my baby-back, baby-back, baby-back, baby-back, baby-back ribs. I wan't my baby-back, baby-back, baby-back, baby-back, baby-back ribs. CHILYYYYYYYYY... baby-back-ribs!!!
HarrisonBergeron
HarrisonBergeron - 12/16/2008, 6:44 PM
If the claws are part of his mutation how was able to use them in the Bad Lands? I thought the cartoon was supposed to be pretty accurate? He was able to use his claws, but without his healing power it was really painful, all the other folks became normal humans, but he was still clawing away.
Shaman
Shaman - 12/16/2008, 6:59 PM
His mutation was the reason behind the "creation" of his claws. It's not what keeps them around. It altered his bone structure by "creating" claws. So even though he can loose his healing factor, his claws will always remain unless they are broken off in "bone form" without healing factor. And let's say for example that if they invented something that could break adamantium, if he still has his healing factor, the bone claws would regrow where the adamantium broke off. So he could be left with half-adamantium, half-bone claws.
oldguy
oldguy - 12/16/2008, 7:33 PM
what?! wolvie with claws as a kid?!
what bollox.
that bone claws rubbish was the worst idea of the 90's... a lame attempt to give his character some distinction after losing both his adamantium and healing factor.
why would they remove them and install knives on a retractable slide mechanism instead? they should have put forks on his left arm for a laugh!
this is why i stoped reading american comics, they make it up as they go along then restart the stories slightly different every 5 years. is wolverine 6 foot plus in the comics now?

thats my rant out of the way....

suppose you cant really complain about this stuff being different to what one expects, seeing as wolverine is 6'2 1/2" tall and Sabertooth is now 6'3"... hmmmmm.

did you see little Storm in the trailer?

I'm going to wait and see what happens with this one.
trailers are'nt very helpful these days.
I was masively dissapointed with the Ironman movie, I'm hoping this puts the marvel movies back on track... hoping.
