It Sounds Like DEADPOOL Spinoff X-FORCE Will Start Shooting Before The Disney/Fox Deal Is Finalised

Disney is in the process of acquiring Fox and that's led to many wondering if Deadpool 2 could be Ryan Reynolds' final outing as the Merc with the Mouth. Luckily, it sounds like X-Force might still happen.

Deadpool 2 is set to be released this May, while X-Men: Dark Phoenix follows in December and The New Mutants will finally reach theaters next February. While Fox has a lot of different X-Men projects in the works, there's a very good chance that the latter will be the final one released by the studio because Disney is in the process of acquiring the studio and the many Marvel characters it owns.

Well, it appears as if Fox is looking to squeeze one more Marvel movie in before it's too late because a new report claims that X-Force will start shooting this October. That would mean it finishes filming before the Disney deal can go through, a sign perhaps that it will be released late 2019 (it's going to take time to bring the X-Men into the MCU so it's unlikely Disney would decide against releasing it).

For now, everything is very much a case of "wait and see" when it comes to both this deal and the future of Ryan Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth. Considering the fact it appears as if Deadpool 2 will go some way in introducing X-Force, it would be a shame not to see the team on the big screen and a movie like this would certainly help Fox go out on a high. What do you guys think? Sound off below.

As long as it's good I don't think Disney/Marvel will care. When all said and done...they may scrap everything except Deadpool

Scrapping the Singer-X-verse and porting the Deadpool universe directly into the MCU would make the most sense.

at least with this Ryan Reynolds will have a trilogy, cause im sure Disney will reboot, and we will be lucky if they keep Ryan

@dracula - I think it would be ridiculous if they attempt to reboot Deadpool. Not only because Reynolds is so good in the role.
But characters like Colousus are so like the comic counterpart (whihc Cable seems it be). I can't see another Colousus after the Deadpool one. Not only have they perfected his look but he also captures the personality of him as well. A reboot will mean altering Colousus in some way which I feel will only be detrimental (you can't improve him).

They should retain Deadpool into the MCU, and work out from there. The Colousus of deadpool should be the the MCU Colousus.

@StormXmen123 - It would be great to keep these versions of Deadpool and Colousus, but it could cause continuity problem, cause while Deadpool stands on its own really well, its obvious that mutants are known to the world, and at least some people know about the X Men. In the MCU, even if they establish that mutants have existed for a while, then its obvious that they are in hidding or there arent enough that people would even notice

@dracula - They could, and probably should, just keep Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool but scrap everything else from his movies, including the characters.

Deadpool can be the only person to carry over to the MCU. They can even make him remember the characters and events from his FOX films.

It would be hysterical to have him breaking the 4th wall about how everything has suddenly changed. And if he ever runs into Colossus in the MCU it would great to mention how Colossus has changed, and then having Colossus not knowing what he's talking about.

There's so many opportunities for comedy gold if they keep Deadpool exactly the same but change everything else. And the best part is it would be comic accurate to do so.

seriously, if Disney wanted to stop all the Marvel-Fox activities, would have done it, "Mr Murdoch, stop it" end of the story

@Fanmar16 - Not necessarily. Disney/Marvel literally has no control over FOX yet. They can't stoo anything right now.
