BOX OFFICE: X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Passes The $500 Million Mark Worldwide

It's taken quite a bit longer to get there than some of 2016's other superhero movies, but X-Men: Apocalypse has finally reached the $500 million mark worldwide. How much higher will it go though?

It's taken a while, but X-Men: Apocalypse has finally earned more than $500 million worldwide. After making an additional $12.75 million overseas this weekend (which is down 47% from last week), its haul was pushed up to $364 million for a total of $510.1 million. With a budget of $178 million, this isn't a terrible result, but you have to believe that it's a far cry from what Fox were hoping for.

Domestically, the movie made $5.21 million (which is also a drop of slightly more than 47%), giving it $146 million. That's a far cry from what Deadpool, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Captain America: Civil War have made, and with Finding Dory in theaters this weekend and Independence Day: Resurgence on the way, it's now hard to picture X-Men: Apocalypse reaching $600 million.

The movie hasn't been a flop, but don't be surprised to see Fox drastically change their plans for the franchise now. What that will entail remains to be seen, but could a reboot be on the way? We'll see...

Wonder if it'll make it to $600 million.

@DeusExSponge -

It made 12 million internationally last week so it wont reach 600 million since that number is definitely going down this week and the power was with the international market.

It'd have an uphill battle at this point to reach 600.

I see it settling somewhere in the 530-550 range as early estimates had it at.

@Humperdink - This. It definitely won't be hitting $600 million.

@DeusExSponge - how many of you believe the MCU is going to make 3billion+ next year

@Itsmrchacha - 2+ billion isn't out of the question. I'm sure both Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man: Homecoming will come close to or make 1 billion. The wild card, IMO, is Thor Ragnarok, especially since it's so close to Justice League. Those two will eat into each others profits.

@Itsmrchacha -

Not that the MCU has anything to do with this, but I see them making 2-2.5 billion next year easily and getting back great returns on their investments in their 2017 movies.

Didn't realize it got this much so far. Not a bad movie to me but really just generic, which i've come to accept from Singer's vision of Xmen.
