James Marsden Expresses Desire To Return As 'Cyclops' In X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Working on Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues meant that James Marsden was unable to return as 'Cyclops' in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but the actor seemingly remains hopeful that he will be asked to reprise the role in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse. Hit the jump to check it out!

Like the video posted earlier today which featured Paul Rudd addressing those Ant-Man rumours, it's hard to read James Marsden's reaction here. Either he knows something about a possible return as the fan favourite mutant in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse or he has no desire to reprise a role which was poorly written across three different films! There are also some who believe he may actually make a surprise appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but we'll just have to wait and see. What do you guys think? Actually Singer Should have returned him in DOFP i mean

they will change the freaking past, that would change the entire storyline so they can fix all the mistakes from last stand is almost a pseudo-reboot!

They better bring Cyclops back, new actor or old, and they better treat him right damn it.

Singer is a hack moron jack ass. Other than the first film Cyclops was shafted. All the loser wolverine fan girls will talk their crap but let's face it, the X-Men are nothing without Cyclops! But don't worry, Wolvie. Beast and the other loses from first class will beat the sentinels. Hahahaha! Enjoy biatches!

Cable will become the breadwinner and new "Wolverine" of the franchise from 2016.

They'll probably also introduce a younger Cyclops in the sequel to this film.

You guys dont realize that Cyclops & Jean died in the FUTURE & First Class Is the PAST!. So in the PAST they have to be born & Recruited & I believe that will be in Apocalypse

Now In last stand we really didn't see cyclops die. He could have had a blindfold on since his shades were floating around and went all silent ninja mode

How do some people still not understand that once they change the events of the past the events of the future will also change, meaning Cyclops and Jean could still be alive.

No, he and Bryan Singer were working on a film for WB (Superman Returns) and Ratner and Fox wrote their own sequel to X2

Cyclops is not needed, Wolverine is the REAL and TRUE leader of the X-Men and that is how it should be! Really he is one of the most useless characters in the films all he does is shoot laser beams out of his eyes. On the other hand Wolverine is indestructible and has claws! Cyclops could be taken out within a second he is weak. If he really wants to return I'll say a 5 second cameo is all he needs. The franchise doesn't need him anyway.
