According to Fox, Anna Paquin's 'Rogue' WILL Be In X-MEN: DOFP

Despite X-Men: Days Of Future Past director Bryan Singer claiming that she'd been cut from the final film, a rep for the studio has confirmed that the True Blood actress will indeed make a cameo appearance. Click on for details.

Although we had seen Rogue in the first X-Men: DOFP teaser and on various promotional materials since, Bryan Singer recently stated that actress Anna Paquin would not be making the final cut of the movie ("Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”) Well it now seems that, for whatever reason, that has changed. After noticing Paquin's name in the credits of the latest trailer, Buzzfeed contacted a 20th Century Fox rep who revealed to them that Rogue is back in the movie: “Essentially, [it’s] a cameo,” they were told. I guess either Singer decided that the scene she originally appeared in wasn't as extraneous” to the story as he once believed, or this is a completely different sequence entirely. One way or the other, it'll be nice to have the character back again...

LOL Fox and Singer are dumbasses, they have no clue as to what they're doing. First we heard she's cut entirely in the movie, now they're backtracking. [frick]ing idiots. Last trailer was awesome though.

OR, after going back over the movie in the final edit, Singer decided that he could make an appearance for Rogue work after all?

But nah, you're probably right..[frick]ING IDIOTS is definitely a more appropriate, rational response.

Singer told Empire back on January that she wasnt 100% out of the movie, so he already teased a small role.

This is no different than that interview. So where is the big problem, kids?

The trailer was so great that I just don't feel like saying something bad about the movie right now. I wish Rogue had more scenes than just a cameo, but seriously that trailer was EPIC!! I can't even say something about Quicksilver, I just can't because I'm really excited!! I won't even say 'JEAN AND SCOTT OR GTFO'!! Well, I just did but I don't really mean it. If that movie is as awesome as the trailer, then it looks like the Singer that directed The Usual Suspects, X-Men and X2 is finally back!!

"This is no different than that interview. So where is the big problem, kids?"

“Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous,” explains Singer. “It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.

Does it really matter either way? I mean she was huge in the first movie, but since that one she hasnt really been so important in that X Universe! So to me, dont matter if she makes it into the movie or not. I would rather see cute little Kitty anyhow, even if she only likes girls!

Well I care about Rogue because Singer never gave us the badass chic she is iun the comics and completely underutilized her. I was hoping to see her kick some ass and from what I heard, the sequence she was in had her displaying some superhuman strength and flight. Let's hope that's still in the film.

I honestly don't give a damn. I used to think she was a good actress who did some out-of-the-mold roles.

But since her involvement with the fecal pile of stupidity called "True Blood", I'd rather they just left Rogue out altogether.

TheMexicanSupermanCanOutDrinkYouAnyDayOfTheWeekMotherFreakers - "@Newbus, Chewbaca, Luke, and Leia were reduced to a cameo in the prequels."

But they were always going to be cameos. With Rogue the script(s) indicated she had significant role in the first part of the film. Now it sounds like she may make alternate reality scene at the end of the movie.

In the begining of the franchise there were cameos of characters portrayed by any one, now main old cast make cameos in a movie cast portrayed by anyone.
