Actor Shawn Ashmore spoke to MTV about returning as Iceman in X-Men: Days of Future Past. "I've been playing Bobby for thirteen years, this is my fourth movie playing Iceman so not only is it amazing to come back and interact with the same actors again - and the caliber of actors we get to work with is amazing. But also, Bryan Singer, he directed the first two films, he sort of started this journey, he cast a lot of us... I know how important this move is to him."

it's nice to see him back. I didn't know if he would be because he is the main supporting role on the FBI side of The Following.

I loved Blink, too.

The pink/purple with the blue of the ice went so well together on screen.

I caught X-Men last night on Spike TV. They are hyping up Bryan Singer, even so that they are letting Superman Returns play next. They really are going all the way !

Wer'e getting a new Toad in this one, right ? Ray Park didn't have a lot to do, but he was good in that flick. Unfortunately, he was blown away by how lame Storm's line was.

I have this frustrating feeling that the brief clip of Iceman, well, BEING Iceman is just about all we are going to see him do . . . I hope I am proven wrong.

Tim Story did the whole flying, burning CGI'd Human Torch back in 2005 with NO problem...and now, in 2014, Singer's only able to have his Iceman go on the ice slide...what a douche..!!

Iceman shoulda been featured more prominently in the early X-Men movies, man. he's an ICON..it's just sad to see what Singer's done to this franchise by only focusing on Wolverine, Xavier and Magneto and a bit of Jean and..THAT's about it. pathetic. and he kept on blaming on the sorry figure in the budget Fox's givin him, thus he left for Superman Returns to la-la land. and now..for Fox to take him back...they both DESERVE each other.

@Wingding

I doubt it. The budget for this film is way too damn high for us to just get that.

I'm still trying to figure out how Cyclops has taken a back seat. He's always been the forefront of the X-Men, and yet no love in the movie world.

I'm pretty sure stops playing the role when filming wraps. Several months at best, not 13 years... what a dummy.

I don't get the crying about Singer, he gave us two two good CBM's. XM and XM2, yeah Superman Returns sucked. But Superman sucks any ways, it's not like he's Batman.

In all honesty, I've NEVER liked Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake. I felt he was too young when they started the movies and should have at least been closer to Jean and Scotts age. He was the youngest of the original 5 but they didn't need to make him a kid when they started the films. I feel like he was too much of a sissy. He wasn't the hot headed Iceman I know from the comics or even the 90's X-Men cartoon which they did an awesome job with everyone in that series. Iceman is a badass and has the potential to be one of the most powerful mutants. Ashmore doesn't do him justice other than when he uses his ice powers sometimes. Anna for Rogue was a terrible choice as well. I'm just waiting for the to reboot the series cause eventually they will.

Haha, I was watching Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends on Sunday with my son. It was hilarious watching Iceman hit on Firestar. And seeing Kraven was great too.

@odie00 I'm inclined to agree with you that he was played as the 'insecure and unaware of his potential' Iceman for a little too long. Not to mention the bastardizing of the original 5. I had always wanted Sean William Scott when I though Iceman on film but Shawn Ashmore has grown on me, a bit more serious if not afraid of his potential.

Still, seeing that ice-slide and unabashed use of power in DOFP for me is a real treat. I've been a fan of the character as far back as I can remember holding a comic when I was 7 I think. After that, card, action figures were only natural. I'm hoping one day, though unlikely, to see this on the screen:
