Sean Connery May Be in Indiana Jones 5

Indiana Jones may get his dad back in the next movie...

According to Worstpreviews.com back when "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was being written, George Lucas revealed that the script had Indy's father in it, which meant that Sean Connery would need to reprise his role. Unfortunately, Connery refused and the script was quickly re-written.

Now that Lucas and Steven Spielberg have cracked the story for the fifth installment, we are starting to hear rumors that the filmmakers will once again try to get Connery to join the cast.Sounds good to me!

Worstpreviews.com also said that their scource said that "Steven Spielberg has been working on a script with George Lucas and there is an element of the story that could see Sean returning. Anything is possible in these movies and if Sean wants to return he will become central to the new story."

No word on whether Connery would come out of retirement for "Indiana Jones 5."

This might make the film better...maybe!

So lets hope this is true!

yeah he's pretty set in retirement. And besides like grif said...indy's dad is dead.
On a side note did anyone else rush home and check to see if sean connery was still alive after seeing the movie or waas that just my reaction?

i don't like it when they do this in sequels...

I hope he doesn't come back. I'm not too big of a fan of Sean Connery. He always seems to play the same role of the chauvinistic asshole in each of his movies

Well, if they had aliens, they can have some sort of bring-back-the-dead story.

I think they will fix the franchise with the next one. They were probably just attempting to modernize it and screwed up...there's always hope!

Yeah, Indy 4 kind of hinted at him being deceased.

Besides, Sean Connery can't save this movie. They need to go old school and film this movie ON LOCATION, and not use so much crappy CGI.

I like Sean Connery, and I liked the stalwart, uncompromising father he played. But they killed him off. Plus, Indy is the age of the actor portraying him. Sean Connery is younger than the man he would be playing. Meaning, as an 80-something year old, he would only fill the role as an advisor to his already twilight aged son. He wouldn't be very useful to the film.

That would mean a prequel. And I never liked Connery anyway. Hope he turns it down again...

they didn't imply that he was death they flat out said he was dead. I love Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade was probably my favorite because of Sean Connery being his dad. (I mean honestly how kick ass is it to have James Bond be Indy's father?) However I don't think they should bring him back for the 5th one if they clearly stated he was dead in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. If they really wanted to bring him back in the 5th one they should have come up with some other explanation to why he wasn't there, but they [frick]ed up and now unless they can come up with some logical explanation (logical meaning something that's not so far out and stupid that you can obviously tell they were just pulling it out of their asses to bring him back) to how he's alive then fans are going to be pissed...especially this fan. Oh and logical meaning something that's not so far out and stupid that you can obviously tell they were just pulling it out of their asses to bring him back. (ie the aliens did it)

@Macksimus- totally agree with that! They need to go back to what made the old films great. CG is a great tool and can bring things that can't be filmed to life, but so many people abuse it nowadays. There is a MAJOR difference when there's something real in front of the camera than when you look at something and can clearly tell it was done on a computer. So in simpler terms STAY THE [frick] OUT OF IT GEORGE LUCAS!!! Write the script help out but leave your [frick]ing CGI orgies out of it!

@josh its ok if u ignore the ending infact other than the ending its a gud indie film if u can see past the crapness of it its not 2 bad

@Roscoe- oh yeah if you cut out the ending and the tarzan scene it would've been 10x better! If they had simply placed the skull back where it was and have the temple begin to collapse good old Indy style then we would've had a completely different movie.

There were some parts of Kingdom i enjoyed, but over all it was a disaster. Take out the gopher, nuking of the fridge, Tarzan Shia, mistaking a snake for a rope and some other silly shit and it could have been good.

I didn't even really mind the Aliens that much. Yeah it was out there, but people seem to forget that the other movies has demonic Arks, Kali worshiping monks that could rip your heart out without killing you and Immortal Knights with the secret to everlasting life.

i didn't understand how connery could have died if he drank from the holy grail in last crusade. wasn't that supposed to give him everlasting life?
RedHeadBruno
RedHeadBruno - 9/19/2009, 9:50 AM
@Corndog: Not just one drink, you have to return and continue to use the grail, not just once and live forever

Have any of you read a script? Does it ever say the next is a sequel? Because even back in the day chronologically the movies go like this: Temple of Doom, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Last Crusade. Yet they were released as we all know Raiders, Temple, then Crusade. So they can make this one happen before the rape fest that Crystal Skull was.

I still don't think it'll happen though, Connery is to set on retirement.

He's transcended time and space and now hangs out with Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda on Dagobah, so theoretically he could pop in at any moment.

Indiana Jones and The Lost World: Jurassic Park? At some point someones gotta find those capsules that Dennis Nedry lost.

Thank you wards. Once again the movies go Temple, Raiders, Crusade, Crystal Skull... They can put the next one wherever the hell they want. So Indy may not be married, would not know his son and him and James Bond can just go around whipping things and sexing up the ladies...

In The Last Crusade the Knight said that once you pass the seal the power is lost. Right? That is how Indy and his Dad could die. They do not live in the Temple.

Correct, that's why he stayed there, and to protect the grail of course
