MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT - Henry Cavill Is An Even Bigger Badass Than Tom Cruise In These New Stills

With Christopher McQuarrie back at the helm, the signs are all pointing to Mission: Impossible - Fallout being one of the summer's best blockbusters. A big part of that not only stems from seeing Tom Cruise return as Ethan Hunt to do some crazy stunts but the fact that Justice League star Henry Cavill is going to get the opportunity to take on a role which is vastly different to that of DC Comics hero Superman.

Now, some brand new images have been revealed in the latest issue of Empire Magazine and they not only put the spotlight on Cavill's mysterious MI6 agent August Walker but plenty of other familiar faces as well. These may even shed some light on the direction of the sequel, so to take a look at the full gallery, all you have to do is click on the "View List" button. Then, share your thoughts down below.

What's going on here? Well, it appears as if Ethan Hunt and August Walker are teaming up for a halo jump, something which is bound to make for an exciting sequence in the upcoming sequel.

This looks like a really fun action sequence and actually reminds me of a moment from the Uncharted video games. It's pretty cool to see it in live-action, that's for sure, but are these two working together?

Ethan Hunt has always been pretty good on the back of a motorbike and it appears as if Mission: Impossible - Fallout is going to feature more intense action scenes of the hero racing into action.

Does Henry Cavill's character take a villainous turn in the movie? The trailers have certainly pointed to that being the case but don't be surprised if there are some unexpected twists and turns with him.

Ving Rhames returning as Luther Stickell is a huge victory for fans of this franchise so here's hoping he gets more than a glorified cameo here as it would be a shame for him to be gone in seconds.

Following the release of the last Mission: Impossible movie, a lot of fans campaigned for Rebecca Ferguson to be cast as Captain Marvel. Unfortunately, she missed out on that so time will tell now.

Tom Cruise has always been hands on with the Mission: Impossible movies and he's clearly helping director Christopher McQuarrie with a scene here revolving around another Ethan Hunt misadventure.

This looks like a very tense exchange; have the movie's heroes been forced to put their differences aside to take on a much larger threat? That seems highly likely but we'll just have to wait and see.

This photo was presumably taken moments before Tom Cruise jumped off that London rooftop and broke his leg (looking at the trailers, that sequence has actually been left in the movie).

I think Cavill will take over the franchise the way Jeremy Renner was supposed to.

Cavill looks awesome in this. This is the first time I've been excited to see Cavill in a movie since Man from UNCLE. He looks great as Superman, but DC has squandered that. Nice to a real director (and Cruise) capitalize on his talent and physical presence.
