We're just over a year away from seeing Tom Cruise reprise one of his most iconic roles yet in Chris McQuarrie's highly-anticipated Mission: Impossible 6 and it looks like the production team is swiftly approaching the finish line.

Cruise has just revealed, via Twitter, that filming has concluded in Rees Valley north of Glenorchy, New Zealand and based on a follow-up tweet from the director, the entire production team is now expected to head to London to film the remaining portions. Additionally, it was previously reported that the production would be making their way to India at some point in the shooting schedule, but it's uncertain now whether that still remains the case.

Check out the latest photo, which features Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), below:

Also, check out these recent shares from McQuarrie that may offer a hint at what Cruise's latest impossible stunt may entail.

I knew of them finishing in New Zealand and the first videos but not about those with Henry Cavill. Nice.

I've never seen a Mission Impossible movie. Ever. Or a Borune film. Are they any good, or are they mixed?

@IAmUnLoveable - They're really good for the most part. The worst is probably 2, and even that has its fun moments.

@IAmUnLoveable -

Dude, go and watch them, heck the MI films are quite stand alone so you can watch them independently. I like 2 as well though.

When I read Time and Time Again by Ben Elton about a Man who travels back in time to prevent World War 1, I did think of Cavill as the lead, especially as the Character has a
'tache when he travels back.

A great book, I recommend it for anyone looking for a great and interesting read.

I get the feeling Cavill is positioning himself to be in the running the Bond... Sounding very Bond-esque in that video.

@HubbleFunk -

Would be an amazing Bond, can definitely see it.
Imagine getting to play Bond and Superman.

Man From Uncle was definitely his audition for the role

@SimplyAz - I agree on your points but Man from Uncle went under the radar, unfortunately. This will get him more attention in the spy genre.

@nikgrid - Last time Cruise filmed here was The Last Samurai (unless I've forgotten a film), and he rang up a local radio station to win some prize for a primary school in the area.

Random bit of trivia for everybody.
