I don't know about you but cartoons really influenced me when I was growing up, Marvel, D.C and Anime's aside, I was a big fan of cartoon network. Especially the Hanna Barbera cartoons (Dexter's Laboratory, the Flintstones, powerpuff girls Penelope pit stop, Scooby Doo, and who could forget Johnny Quest)just to name a few, some of these cartoons are spanning back as far as the 60's and no I wasn't around then either because am only in my 20's. I remember watching re-runs of Space Ghost and Birdman and the Galaxy Trio has a kid, Then Adult Swim started showing "Space Ghost:Coast to Coast" I expected it to be great which it was, which brings me to my first cartoon you should watch before you die,
"Harvey Birdman: attorney at Law".

It's just to funny for me to summarise in a sentence just watch it and tell me am not right. It features large amounts of Hanna Barbera characters why they stopped making it I'll never know because it's pure comedic genius, It also stars Stephen Colbert he's a funny bastard quote "did you get that thing I sent you".

The second Cartoon below is called "The Boondocks" written by Aaron Mcgruder, it stars Regina King (she starred alongside Sandra Bullock in Mrs Congeniality 2) and John Witherspoon (Ice Cube's dad in Friday, and the blind man from soul plane). I want to say this if your racially sensitive in any way you better suck it up before watching this video, and if you've watched this cartoon series you would agree that its one of the best african american tv animation series ever made, you can catch it on the adult swim channel or website still on going and in its third season which am currently watching, quote "Code Black".

The next cartoon below is "Frisky Dingo" written by Adam Reed this guy's a great writer one of the best comedy writers of our decade, It's also on the adult swim website but if you're not in the region of North America you won't be able to watch the videos because of IP restrictions. I particularly enjoy characters like Awesome X, Mr Ford and Killface here's a clip from an episode quote "Boosh".

I just finished watching this next cartoon its called "Archer" also written by comedy genius Adam Reed, It stars most notably Jessica Walter (Lucille Bluth on Arrested Development), Judy Greer (13 going on 30, and Two and the half men), Aisha Tyler (Ghost Whisperer, Friends, Kanye west's video of Slow jams), and Chris Parnell (used to be a cast of Saturday night live) the rest you won't know. It's being shown on the Fx channel that's if you have sky digital or cable, or you can just catch it on the web. I think it's not just another typical spy comedy, it has the potential to be one of the best spy comedies since Austin Powers quote "danger zone".

So there you have it a list of cartoons you should watch before you die and if you've already watched them you can now die happy. If your really really I mean really bored here's one the best episodes of Archer (Season 3: Diversity for hire).

Frisky Dingo was awesome! The Archer crew was behind Frisky Dingo, I think. Anyway, give me a Green Lantern series now!

From a cultural and pop culture standpoint I like Boondocks. It's funny as hell! No one is safe from satire on that show!

Oh, so we're just going for funny cartoons here? Because Samurai Jack needs to be on any broad list. Or is it from longer than a decade ago?

I gotta try and watch Archer. Jon Benjamin is hilarious on home movies and Important Things with Dimitri Martin.

Here, as of the new century, almost everything that's a cartoon ([frick] you, Boosh!) on Adult Swim is a MUST watch.

Boondocks - ahead of it's time.

Venture Bros. - geek heaven.

McFarland cartoons - must I really give a reason?

Metalocalypse - for the musicians.

Home Movies - classic.
