Check out this video interview with James Marsters on the sequel to Dragonball Evolution.



He seemed pretty sure that a sequel would not happen, but at the same time tried to avoid that topic. Nonetheless, it was also a bit interesting to hear him discuss a bit of what they had planned for "Z".

I like how the movie didn't look anything like the tv show how it didn't even attempt to make allusions to it. It was awesome i hope they just make up completely new characters and stories and slap the Dragonball logo on it for the sequel. The tv show characters and stories have been done before they are old news. They wouldn't translate well onto film anyways. I mean their method for the first film worked so well, they should just continue making major changes to everything possible. That would be really cool right guys?

Good lord, Dragonball Evolution was without a doubt one of the worst films EVER MADE!!! It had ZERO respect for the anime or continuity.
Even if they did a reboot, and made it as close to the anime as possible it still wouldn't be able to replicate the awesomeness of the show for one simple reason - in 2 hours you cannot possibly replicate the epicness of fights that could go on for an entire season.

Oh yeah, @CaptainProg - I'm pretty sure Goku could breath in space, just didn't know it which is why he wears a space suit. In the first season, episode Trouble on Arlia, Vegeta and Napa both get out of their ships in space and are able to breath, and proceed to blow up an entire planet by simply lifting a finger. Goku's 100% Saiyan, so I'm pretty sure he'd be fine just doesn't realize it. In which case.......Superman's getting raped in a fight, no matter where they are.

I think Goku would win, seeing as he's got the Spirit Bomb and all... >.>

Anyway, I liked DragonBall Evolution. Yeah, it could have been better, AND it had zero respect for the series. However, it was a hopeful little movie, and I would see the second one.

Reboot preferred though!!!

That was one of the worst movies ever made. They need to redo the whole thing over. DBZ would sell like crazy if put in the right hands.

Thank goodness this awful movie will not get a sequel.

But if Fox or another studio ever make a reboot. It would be awesome if this time they hire Asian actors for Son Goku, Son Gohan and Vegeta.

@xxkryptonitexx: what's the point of making a dragonball movie in cg? it's already an anime with what seems like hundreds of movies, so making it a cg movie would pretty much be useless.

and the hundreds of movies is a good thing :P

on the supes vs goku, spirit bomb only works on evil hearts so it wont work on supes, and IF supes doesn't hold back he's capable of beating the hell out of a -god- darkseid, in the superman/batman story arc with supergirl he whupped darkseid

dear god please make a reboot. hell no to a sequel! they'll make even less if one came out. hell, the piece of crap probably wont even get to DVD or any kind of HBO or regular tv series. Know what, just dont make one anymore, let the anime live. they've tortured it enough

i haven't seen it all of it i caught some of it on hbo it looked like shit the movie was a disgrace to dragon ball fans inculding myself and sups would destory goku as for james masters i still stay they screwed him they should of gave his charcter spike his own tv show the man was funny as hell if he really wated 2 he can kick angels ass

Ehhh...well it was kind of hard NOT to compare it to DBZ rather than Dragonball. Honestly, after seeing Sucker Punch's epic battle scenes I started to think that Zack Snyder (or the like) should try his hand at adapting an anime to the big screen. I think a good place for him to start some years after Superman would be Dragonball Z.

Although the parts he talked about never happened in the show. Don't talk if you don't know. Just admit it and say your studying the role. Still gonna ask him about it sometime. Maybe if he hits the Philly Wizard World.

@herosave I was thinking the same thing about snyder. I think the best shot DBZ has it to be kinda stylized like snyders movies usually are. But It would cost a ton of money in special effects to do it right.

^^^ actually he technocally should be played by a chinese actor, the whole dragonball series was originally based on 'journey to the west' an old chinese story, but i'm fine with whoever, i still liked justin chatwin as goku, james marsters as piccolo, chow yun fat as roshi, and emmy rossum as bulma...so yeah.

@ AlSimmons: I disagree. I feel he needs to look like unique. Like a Fictional race. I feel casting the Sayains is like casting Superman or Wonder Woman. The individual has to have this other worldly look while still passing as human.
A Caucasian actor with mixed European routes or an exotic Mediterranean look is more viable too me. Or even an Asian/European mix. Rather then an Alien that looks Asian landing in an Asian country....

Of course the majority of the Supporting cast should be Asian and Gohan and Chi Chi should be mixed Asian. Chi Chi can be pure Asian.

please ...no the damage has been done.....the only way u could make a dbz movie is straight cgi minus the normal peeps krillin, bulma, chi chi, people likem vegeta , goku....too buff hair too crazy to make a actor play...plus fight scenes should be cgi as well.....no puffy balls flying ...real beams of mass destruction only ....maybe then it could work and only made them based on each villian he fights
