First released on December 9, 1994, Tekken was initially an arcade game but a year later made its way to the PlayStation. The game was met with instant success and critical acclaim. It's actually the first game to sell over one million copies on the PlayStation. With several records in the "Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008," it comes as no surprise why many fighting game fans adore the franchise.
The titles of the video game sequels include Tekken 2, Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken 4, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. Tekken 6 is the most recent release and is also the first major release to be on the Xbox 360.
In 2001, "Tekken Forever" was published by Imagi comics that focused on the Kazama family as well as a character from "Tekken Tag Tournament," which goes by the name Unknown. The comic book had only one issue.
Like many other video game series, it was only a matter of time before a live action film was developed. The film releases in 2010 on a budget of $35 million. Directed by Dwight H. Little, whose responsible for "Anacondas: the Hunt for the Black Orchid," "Murder At 1600," and "Marked For Death." He also has credits from television series such as "Prison Break," "Bones" and "The X-Files."
The film stars John Foo who plays Jin Kazama. Foo also worked on "Batman Begins" as a member of the League of Shadows Warriors...but was uncredited. The film also features Ian Anthony Dale as Kazuya Mishima and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Heihachi Mishima to name a few characters.
Film Plot:
"In the year of 2039, after World Wars destroy much of civilization as we know it, the remaining territories are no longer run by governments, but by corporations; the mightiest of which is the Mishima Zaibatsu. In order to keep the masses down, Mishima sponsors the King of Iron Fist Tournament, or Tekken, in which fighters battle until one is left standing, who in turn will receive a lifetime of stardom and wealth. We are introduced to this violent world through the eyes of Jin Kazama who enters the tournament in order to avenge the death of his mother that he blames upon the Mishima Zaibatsu's most powerful and controlling chairman – Heihachi Mishima. He knows that the only way to get close enough to Mishima to kill him is to win the tournament, but in doing so, he begins to uncover his own past and inner demons as well as exposing a dark underbelly to Tekken that threatens the very existence of humanity."

Whispers68: After seeing how video game adapted films have been handled, I have no faith whatsoever in this one. That last tragedy known as "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li," was the icing on the cake but you know what, I'll try and keep an open mind on this one.
