ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Tracking For $69 Million - $80 Million Debut When It Hits North America

Early estimates are in for Ant-Man and The Wasp and while it won't touch Avengers: Infinity War's record-breaking debut, the sequel is expected to open quite a bit bigger than 2015's first instalment...

Ant-Man and The Wasp has finally hit tracking and industry sources are currently predicting a three-day opening weekend ranging from as low as $69 million to as high as $80 million. That's obviously not a massive opening but it's still quite a bit bigger than Ant-Man's $57.2 million debut back in 2015.

It's rare for a sequel to top its predecessor's debut so Ant-Man and The Wasp is already doing well in that respect and with Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World:
Fallen Kingdom hitting theaters in the weeks before it's released, the Marvel Studios movie doing as well as this is a genuine surprise because they're bound to both serve as extremely stiff competition once it hits theaters early next month.

According to Deadline, "
First choice for Ant-Man and the Wasp is tracking well with males under 25, followed by men 25+, then females under 25 with females 25+ the lowest." Ant-Man scored a $57.5 million opening weekend and went on to earn over $519.3 million worldwide so this stronger start bodes well. The only problem is that it's being released later overseas which could lead to piracy.

Seeing as this is a Marvel movie, though, don't be surprised if it ultimately exceeds expectations...

Hmm though that is better than Ant Man 1 I was hoping it could open with $100 million +. Definitely want it to make more than Solo. Also because of Solo I'm very skeptical about tracking numbers now.

Improving on its predecessors numbers would be a heist at the box office.
