Aaron-Taylor Johnson sat down with Collider and had a lengthy interview discussing his character Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The first thing he speaks on is Quicksilver's accent and how he and Elizabeth Olsen had to work together to get it to sound similar. "Me and Lizzy [Elizabeth Olsen] have been doing dialect coaching together and trying to get that to sound similar considering that we’re playing twins, brother and sister. But you know, her being American and me British. But yeah, it’s fun."

He then talks about how Marvel did a lot of work making Quicksilver's super speed power really 'come to life'. "That’s the great thing with these things, with new powers, that you really can kind of play with that sort of stuff. We did a lot of testing. The first time we did a running test I was like this running machine, but it was this huge, Lorre sized rig, it was the width of this, it was something they sped up and it was a great big running machine." He then tells more about the process and reveals how many frames per second they shot at. "And they had me on a harness and a green screen, and they put it sort of on an incline and I ran on that. But what it did, it didn’t really give a sense that anything was really traveling. When you played it back, it looked too clean and neat, it didn’t really look real. When we did some stuff on the road, and they shot it 120 frames per second, and they’re on a truck and they’re driving and I sprint for a hundred meters." Even though a lot of work had to be done, Aaron-Taylor Johnson said playing the character Quicksilver was "a lot of fun."

Yesterday in Elizabeth Olsen's interview, she said that not only Hawkeye will have a sense of humor in the film, but Quicksilver will as well. Aaron-Taylor Johnson spoke on that and said the thing Marvel didn't want people to find humorous. "The thing is with the Marvel universe in general is that everything’s not taken seriously. There are points when there’s real drama, but I love that there’s a lot of sarcasm and humor to it and people have that moment of humor. So it’s fun. What we didn’t want from me and Lizzie’s standpoint is for our accents to be the humorous thing." Even though they didn't want the accent to be a laughable trait, he does reveal that there will be greats amount of humor in the film (primarily because of certain members of the team bickering). "You know, it’s always that kinda great thing where they have characters go head to head and bicker with one another, and I don’t want to say who, but it’s nice to have like…yeah, there’s a lot of humor in it."

As for Fox's Quicksilver who appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Johnson says even though he hasn't even seen that version of Quicksilver, he's doesn't feel threatened by it. " I haven’t seen it yet, so I don’t really know. That’s more of a Joss question. When the job came around, it was already out there, I think it was already shooting, so it wasn’t like ‘oh, should I really be taking on the character this early?" He then adds, "You look at the two different universes, I didn’t feel like we felt at all threatened, nor do we feel like we’re saying that’s you know the wrong thing, it’s just that’s one thing and we’re doing something different. I haven’t watched it to kind of be like ‘oh, they’re doing the slo-mo super speed kind of action shots.'"

Aaron-Taylor Johnson then speaks on the costume he sports in the film, and explains that the twins are really just going along with what they can get their hands on early on. "I’m just more of a civilian really. Like I said, they’re more like Eastern European like travelers and you know, picking up clothes as they go along, you know. And I can’t really say too much about it, but yeah I think the way that we’ve designed picking out the costumes is with that kind of thought in mind." He then goes in depth to the clothes he wears in Avengers: Age of Ultron (as seen in the image to the right), "You know, like I think some of the things I wear is a lot more kind of sporty, you know long-sleeve, a cycle top, sort of compression T-shirts and things like that, that get that kind of physique and sense and idea of it." To see more of what Aaron-Taylor Johnson had to say about his favorite Avenger, working with Elizabeth Olsen, and more, hit the link below! Hopefully, this ought to shut up all the idiots complaining about their costumes. They're homeless Eastern European gypsies- are you really expecting them to wear red and blue spandex and ridiculous headgear? I hope they get some more 'superhero-y' costumes later down the line, but it makes perfect sense for them to wear what they do in this film.

I read similar interview on IGN yesterday, good stuff, not sure if there's some differences though in this one?

Just checked my phone it's actually on the 23rd.
I hope I have no kids behind me.
I was having shitloads of fun in The Avengers but I had this little girl that kept on kicking me in the back. Poor girl was too small for the seat so she kept on falling but it was still distracting.

I remember a lil kid Hulking out as me, my lil brother and some friends walked out, brought a smile to my face.

As I walked out I screamed.
"YOU'RE IN FOR ONE HECK OF A RIDE!!"
To the people in for the next session.

TheBritAvenger@ damn right as long as they aren't avengers it wouldn't make sense if they had superhero costumes so early, and just like cap said to falcon when he asked him if he would fight with a normal outfit and he said " if you gonna fight a war you got to wear a uniform "

@ManCalledSting

He really should be...sadly, Wilding has some big issue with him.

And yeah, it'll be tough for ATJ to live up to Peters, especially because Peters is a much better actor. But with Whedon at the helm, I'm certain ATJ will do well, and the character will definitely be done justice.

I wonder if they're gonna touch on the borderline incestual relationship.
Doubt they will but that's for the best, it would be way too weird to the GA.
They'll prob just show how close they are.

@Jeight

You may want to step back just a little bit. Me and Stinger are just talking. Your expectations are different, and that's fine. But don't even begin to think that you can tell me what my expectations should be. I know you love to be the MCU defender, but take a moment to realize who you're talking to. I'm not some studio groupie for you to rant against.
