AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON: 'Ultron' Attacks In Hot Wheels' "Avengers Tower Takeover"

Mattel have been kind enough to send over a final image of their very awesome looking "Avengers Tower Takeover" set, as well as the packaging which offers up a new shot of the menacing titular villain from Avengers: Age of Ultron! This looks like a must buy to us. Check it out...

Earlier this week, we shared some photos of Hot Wheels' "Avengers Tower Takeover". However, Mattel reached out to let us know that wasn't the final image, and have now provided us with the very cool official version of both the packaging and toy itself. As it happens, the former offers up a new look at the villainous Ultron, and you have to wonder what if anything this set tells us about the movie. Can you imagine how awesome it would be if Ultron does take on some sort of giant form in Avengers: Age of Ultron? Will Avengers Tower be destroyed? Let's just wait and see...

Honestly, I think that Ultron looks really ugly.

This confirms my theory that Ultron's final form will be a 50 foot torso stuck in concrete.

I think I'm willing to pull a RamonSuarez and bet any amount of money that this scene (or anything even close to it) will never appear in the movie.

@SauronBane

Are you sure you want to make that bet???

Do you not remember Spiderman catching Electro's car in his web in tASM2???

What about Hulk "smashing" Abomination's car???

Do you REALLY not remember Rocket's car from Guardians of the Galaxy?!??

I want it!

But ... i don't know why Marvel excludes Black Widow of this type of promotion.
They did the same with Gamora.

Ultron looks like a deformed General Grievous. I don't know if I like Ultron with human features. But I bet it's his final form, as the contradiction with Ultron is that he hates humans, but grows more like them. So it's probably a visual representation of that.

But this is scarier than that:

It's a share they excluded Black Widow. Do they really think young boys won't want it because of one girl in the middle of five boys.

I mean shame haha.

@SnapperCarr They finally have a great villain unlike any other and then they make him look like any other.

I bet this one came from the higher ups at Disney in the same fashion that we got the ball droid in Star Wars.

If it did come from Whedon then all the more reason to kick him out of the directors chair and have the Russo's come on. Whedon just randomly showed up and got a lot of cred for making an average movie when the Russo's gave us one of the best.

The Averages: Age of Megatron

Btw, just poking fun, am excited for the movie, HOWEVER, unnecessary changes to the source; historically not awesome.

I think he looks creepier with human features. Gives him personality, something Whedon wanted to give Ultron since the start.
PymParticle

@TheRedCondom I suppose Darth Vader, C3PO, R2D2 had no personality. They better give C3PO and R2D2 human faces with expression otherwise Star Wars VII is doomed!

Maybe Groot should speak normal from now on as well, you know, to give him more personality.

And both Iron Man and Ant-man should have helmets with moving mouths to make them cooler.

If Sony had done this to Ultron there would have been riots. But no, it's Marvel so it's ok to change everything.

@PymParticle
Ultron WILL have a non-human robotic face. The human-like face is part of his evolution. Which will fit in more with the irony of Ultron that Whedon has been talking about. His moving face will have a purpose.

No one is saying motionless faces will make a movie fail. Stop exaggerating things.

a nice reminder that i (aging comic fan) am no longer part of the target audience.
my $15 movie ticket means nothing next to the hundreds that parents will spend on moulded plastic with hero stickers.
i feel as old as gusto looks (he's actually 16).
is it time for me to impregnate someone with another customer and keep this cash cow milkin?
no. its about damn time i go look creepy in a toys r' us with star wars lego at the till, saying its "for my nephew" (or some other nonexistant human excuse) to a pimply highschooler with a nametag who knows im lying.
F**k you hot-wheels. you used to be fun.
