CIVIL WAR May Be Brewing In Leaked Clip From AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

This leaked clip from Avengers: Age of Ultron featuring a very tense exchange between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) briefly found its way online yesterday, and as well as being able to watch it right here, you can read our thoughts on what it reveals about the sequel...

WARNING: Possible Spoilers For Avengers: Age Of Ultron Follow!

The biggest reveal from yesterday's "Marvel Event"? Hawkeye has a farm. That's right, at some point in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Earth's Mightiest Heroes (as they're dubbed by Captain America in the leaked clip below) end up hiding out there, something which likely happens after they get beaten by Ultron. His plans have something to do with the internet based on what we've heard in recent reports, so getting away from civilisation is probably high on their list of priorities.

What does this clip tell us about the film? Well, Thor has gone AWOL and Steve seems unhappy that his felow Avengers have been keeping secrets from him. "The Maximoff Twins" are clearly aligned either with Ultron or simply against The Avengers at this point too, while there's mention of the heroes all seeing something pretty unpleasant sounding as a result of the Scarlet Witch's powers. It appears as if Steve was the only one not to experience a bad vision (perhaps explaining where that WWII flashback featuring Peggy Carter fits into things), and it could be here that Tony has that hallucination of the team all lying prone on an asteroid - based on footage descriptions which came from this year's San Diego Comic-Con - with Cap's shield lying shattered.

That likely comes about as a result of Tony's fear of outer space following the events of The Avengers and how they left him mentally traumatised (as was evident in Iron Man 3). Unless of course the Scarlet Witch's reality altering powers gave him a glimpse of what's to come in Avengers: Infinity War! However, I'd bet it's more a case of them being shown thier darkest fears.

Something which can't be ignored is the tension between Captain America and Iron Man. As was evident in the first movie, these two don't see eye to eye, and you can easily imagine their very different stances on life playing a huge role when they clash in Captain America: Civil War even though they do seemingly put their differences aside by the end of this scene. Don't worry Cap, you'll soon be taking your frustrations out on Stark's face instead of just a piece of wood...

The clip was already posted (though the video appears to have been removed), but this article is taking a closer look at what it means for the movie whereas the previous one had three poorly written lines of gibberish. :)

Thankfully, Whedon isn't neglecting Cap and making him a bitch

Heh, fair enough Josh.

Whedon did some fantastic stuff with Cap in The Avengers...but I really wish the Winter Soldier-version of Cap had been in that movie, too. The Russos really figured out how to maximize his sheer physicality. Such a beast.

@SauronsBANE

This isn't meant to be "flame baity," but what good did Whedon do for CaP? I personally saw nothing, I felt he put him in tights, made him whine but never explained why (even though we knew it was about Bucky), and limited his fighting to basic gymnastics.

The chemistry is so together. It flows like a river. Whedon is amazing.

@MarkyMarkRises No worries, that's a perfectly fair question. Not only did Whedon show how Cap could grow into a convincing leader for the team, but The Avengers basically established Cap and Stark's ongoing rivalry (after the announcement of Civil War, it's REAL easy to see that in retrospect).

Dialogue-wise, thematically, and character progression - those were the main ways that Whedon transformed Cap from who he was in The First Avenger. The Russos piggybacked off that, but ALSO managed to make him a physical, truly super-soldier machine too.

I'M THINKING THE SCARLET WITCH MAY HAVE GIVEN THOR A VISION OF RAGNAROK.

Think about it guys. That's pretty important to Thor's story so it has to be that.

Also Tony Stark clearly saw a glimpse of Infinty War that's for sur.

I'm sure in the MCU Thanos will have something to do with Ragnarok, and when Asgard falls he will get the (i think 2?) Infinity Stones.
