I love how Marvel adapts existing comic book storylines and everyone is ok with it. While if DC makes BVSDOJ too much like TDKReturns everyone has an issue.

@JasonBlue

Personally I like to see adaptations of canon stories better than non-canon. I don't know if thats the problem to the other guys complaining.

Sweet reads up there!

I'd also go the PS4 way before X-Box.

Great movies too, though I still gotta watch Edge of Tomorrow. :p

@Asrchele - I'm with you... I also don't mind if DC adopts the animated Wonder Woman film into the live-action Gal Gadot film.

My problem with them adapting TDK Returns is that they are using the end of a non canon universe to start a new cinematic universe. Its not that I don’t want them to adapt DC comic stories. I think Under the Red Hood would be classic if they do the proper set up. Meaning they have to have Grayson as Robin then have them fall out setting the need for Todd. Then the need Todd to die so he can com back.

The brilliant thing about the MCU is that they started from a good origin for all the characters allowing for the character progression that is so obvious now. Rogers, Stark, and Odinson have had great arcs that are continuing into the future. I don’t see the range of progression in DCCU if they start with an older weary Batman. JMHO

@Hush2010 - I also think DC is building up to a crisis on infinite earths... Especially after Geoff johns mentioned it, and with The Flash TV show hinting it. It would explain why DC is pushing for a Supergirl TV show!

Adding to what Hush2010 said, another reason is that TDKR takes place in a universe in which Batman and Superman have known each other for 20+ years. Having that baggage makes the fight between the two more interesting and actually provides some sort of rationale for them squaring off in the graphic novel. BvS is leapfrogging that acknowledged shared history to get both characters into position to fight. That's the problem that I see.

People are complaining about Dawn of Justice?!! It sure as hell ain't me I cant wait!!! My problem with Nolan's last Batfilm was that Batman quit....twice. Batman doesn't quit or just give up & that took me right out of the movie. Having a film where we might get an actual comic version of Batman has me psyched!!!

"I love how Marvel adapts existing comic book storylines and everyone is ok with it. While if DC makes BVSDOJ too much like TDKReturns everyone has an issue."

What you are experiencing is MARVEL-MOUTH, a double-standard in favor of the MCU. CatWoman needs a tail and Bane must HULK-OUT on "venom", but Scarlet Witch is fine as a Homeless woman.

I have to refresh on CIVAL WAR, but remember when we all wanted this....

Would have been epic. Stupid Skrull rights discrepancy.

@JasonBlue TDKR was great back when it came out, but hasn't aged the best. It paved the way for bigger and better Batman stories, but I never liked it enough to want to see a live action adaptation (aside from the Batman/Superman fight). Not to mention that after DC split fans down the middle with Man of Steel, there's less good faith built up for their movies.

As for Civil War, I'm not sure if Marvel will be able to pull it off as good as it should be. You need to include damn near every hero in the MCU to make it as epic as the comic was (so it feels like a war, and not just a handful of Avengers arguing), and somebody's got to fill in for Spider-Man (who changed sides halfway through the story). But it only came out a few years ago and is still relevant (the debate of freedom vs security).

@NeoBaggins Maybe after Infinity War? I doubt Fox will keep making F4 movies, they've barely done any press about the new film next year... and from the little we have heard, it doesn't sound promising.

@jfrocks2002

Yeah, this FF film may end it for them. Don't know what the contracts look like or what the time frame is for Skrull rights, but I guess a Secret Invasion storyline faces the same issue Infinity War will; needs way more superheroes than the Avengers.
