Joss Whedon On How THE AVENGERS Prepared Him For AGE OF ULTRON

Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon discusses how his experience prepping and filming 2012's The Avengers has prepared him for the sequel. "I want to be clearer about how I engage the audience, where I take them."

Here's another snippet from the extensive Entertainment Weekly discussion with "it" director of the moment, Joss Whedon. Inside the magazine's pages, Whedon touches on what filming The Avengers taught him and how he'll apply those lessons in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Said the geek icon, "I want to be clearer about how I engage the audience, and where I take them. I want more control visually, more time to prep it. Not that I didn't dictate every shot - I did. But there's only so much you can do when you're making a summer film when the ball is already rolling as fast as it was when I got in. Why do it again if you can't do it better?"

On looking back at his 2012 smash hit, Whedon reflected, "I don't think you'd look at it and go, 'This is a model of perfect structure.' You'd go, 'This is working.' I like it. I'm proud of it and I like its imperfections. The thing I cared about most - making a summer movie like the ones from my childhood - is the thing I pulled off."

Just cause its not as "big" doesnt mean cant be better, it can easily be better without having something top an alien invasion, that doesnt dictate better storytelling, i say this to the soley visually stimulated fanboys

You know it would be interesting if this took place in a post apocalypse New Your after Ultron has taken over.

It's not gonna happen, but it would be sick (in a good way) if they went that route.

Can't wait. Hope he gives Pym a reference in building the brains of Ultron at least. I don't mind Stark building the robots or integrating him into Shield's OS or something but I'd like Pym to get at least a mention.
