Marvel Issue Google With A Subpoena To Find The AVENGERS: AOU Trailer Leaker

They seemed to take the leak in stride by simply releasing the official Avengers: Age Of Ultron trailer early, the studio is determined to track down the person down and serve him Marvel style justice!

When the trailer for Joss Whedon's Avengers sequel leaked online almost a full week early, Marvel responded with a humorous "Dammit Hydra" Tweet, before officially releasing it themselves. Said trailer went on to break the record held by Iron Man 3 as the most viewed in the studio's history. So, no harm no foul right? Well, not exactly...Marvel are not letting this lie. According to THR, they've gone to the California federal court for the issuance of a subpoena on Google in order to weed out the leaker. Here are the details.

"The entertainment company says in court documents that someone using the name "John Gazelle" posted a file of the film on his Google Drive account. On October 22, a lawyer at Marvel parent Disney sent Google a takedown notice pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, requesting that Google expeditiously remove the file. But Marvel wants more identifying information about the alleged infringer. The company is going after the IP address associated with this user's YouTube and Google+ accounts. The exact nature of the uploaded file isn't detailed in court documents, but according to recent news reports, there's been circulation of an early trailer of the much-anticipated superhero film as well as a clip of a scene featuring Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr."

Could this guy have more skulduggery up his sleeve? It sounds like Marvel could be worried that this Hydra agent has infiltrated higher levels than they first realized and are determined to shut down any further leaks. You can see the declaration filed in court by Matthew Slatoff, executive director of global security and content protection at Marvel, below.

I was going on the assumption it was Disney/ABC who wanted AoS to fail.
They wanted AoS to tank and miss the ratings boost.

Call it a conspiracy of corporate cowards.

Seriously though, Marvel needs to stop thinking their Shield. So a fan leaked your trailer...

How can Marvel be sure that he won't leak anything more.
Of course we want every trailer and stuff to leak but the guy could leak things that could affect the movies.
