More From Elizabeth Olsen On Her "Damaged" 'Scarlet Witch' In THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Doing more press for Spike Lee's Old Boy, the most recently announced addition to the cast of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen, expressed more excitement for her role as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch. "I hung out with Mr. Whedon recently," the actress told MovieFone when asked where she is currently with the Marvel sequel. "I'm really excited about this movie. I'm so excited about Scarlet Witch. I have had so much fun reading all about her and I am like learning new words that I had to look up on Wikipedia. I'm really enjoying it." When asked what she's most excited about, Olsen replied, "I just love Scarlet Witch. I love her. It's so funny because I'm often talking about all these psychologically damaged people, but when you talk about Scarlet Witch... She is a messed up lady. She has got more sh*t to deal with than anybody else I know. I'm excited to figure out what's appropriate to use for her, because there's so much material from all of these decades, and we're going to tell this one story. So to be able to choose what you're going to bring into it from all of this abundance, it's really fun."

When SourceTV asked Elizabeth Olsen how exactly did discussions of her playing the Scarlet Witch come about, she said "I don’t really know. I’m still kind of shocked by it. My brother’s a big comic book guy, I subsequently love those types of stories. I love sci-fi, I was raised as the biggest fan of “Star Wars.” And so those movies are fun to make. I’m obsessed with the “Iron Man” movies. And I met Joss [Whedon], I had no idea why and yeah! And it ends up being like the coolest [thing], I’m having so much fun just reading right now. It’s really awesome."

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen in negotiations to join, The Avengers: Age of Ultron is directed by Joss Whedon from his screenplay, and is slated to begin production in March 2014 and release on May 1, 2015.

I know that actors are always trying to promote their movie - to me that's a given (unless something weird happens, like with Jim Carrey in Kick-Ass 2). But when I hear them get genuinely excited about the roles and start geeking out over it like I've heard with Olsen, Saldana, and Chris Pratt over these movies, I get really psyched. If their this passionate about the characters, I know it's going to be good

I'm pretty sure they're gonna keep the Scarlet Witch and QS backgrounds a secret maybe even a running gag throughout the movie...no one knowing about their origins lol

Has anyone seen that Sam Jackson commercial for the 'quicksilver' credit card...? Each time I see it I imagine him calling me quicksilver...errr...I mean avengers 2....yeahhhhh Elizabeth Olsen is awesome I can't wait for this movie!!!

They have to be introduced in CA:TWS or even GotG after credits scene and briefly develop some backstory. I don't want AoU to be overly focused on their origins if that means to sacrifice a good bunch of the team or Ultron's development. That's the only thing that worries me about this movie.

I feel like their origins will be a mystery for now, but I love the idea of them being in an after credit scene of Cap or GotG

They could totally do it like Ultimates we're their like black ops SHIELD agents and they actually were apart of the Battle of New York. What? No they weren't.
Quicksilver: "Check the security cameras. Frame by frame."

Also, Falcon better be on the team. Period.

@Pasto My guess is that they have something to do with the "powered" beings that are referenced and somewhat monitored in Agents of Shield (the Scorch guy episode), but I also like the idea of them being Inhumans.

I have a theory:
Since both Whedon and Feige said that they won't get along with the Avengers in the start, I guess they will appear at the GotG post-credits scene. Maybe Ronan will tell them that he has orders (from Thanos) and they have to kill the Avengers. The twins listen to him, fight them, Wanda's magic does something to Jarvis so he becomes Ultron and then they join forces with the rest of the team to clean up the mess they created. And then in Avengers 3 Thanos will finally show up to deal with them on his own.

I'm really excited to see how their suits will look like. Also, I expect a line like 'red riding hood and road runner' from Tony Stark.

Can't wait how Joss handles the character. Her powers should be visually stunning to say the least.

And I forgot to mention that they are going to be Inhumans. Quicksilver is connected with them already, he even had a kid with Crystal.

ULTRON WE WOULD HAVE WORDS WITH THEE!

If this line isn't in the movie, I'll find Joss Whedon and I'll kill him.

@ newmutants

[frick]ing troll...

On to the topic at hand

I'm really looking forward to Olsen playing Wanda, she does seem to have a genuine desire to play it right. I really wanna see what direction they go with costumes for the 2 of them, although we already know that Wanda won't have the goofy headband, according to Joss.

Age of Ultron will be massive, not even the MoS sequel, whatever the hell they're calling it, will be able to compete!

DefcoN - 11/26/2013, 11:41 AM
@antoineflemming There's also the possibility they are strongly referenced (or even appear) in future episodes of Agents of Shield. That would be a clever move from Marvel and the Whedons. The origin could be very well explained without wasting time in the movie (we got to remember we have now 8 Heroes and 1 villain, so far) and it would also encourage fans and GA to give the show a second chance.
